Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Looking To Dominate Television With New Projects

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are looking to dominate the world of television with their new projects. In fact, the celebrity couple is producing a new scripted and reality television series. Reports say the celebrity couple has a new television show called ‘Fire Island’ on the Logo network. The docuseries follows the adventures of six friends who share a house in Fire Island, New York, a top gay vacation destination.

What’s more, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos will also executive produce ‘Geek Girl Rising,’ a new project about female tech entrepreneurs. The television series will be based on Heather Cabot and Samantha Walraven’s book about female entrepreneurs and technologists who are looking to build the next generation of start-ups.

Clearly, Kelly and Mark are looking to become the next king and queen of television. And it very well might happen. Along with their new projects, Mark’s television career has been on fire. He just landed a major ‘Night Shift’ Season 4 role. He also plays Oscar on the hot Fox baseball drama, ‘Pitch’ and he’s a regular on USA’s ‘Queen of the South.’ What’s more, it doesn’t look like he plans on slowing down anytime soon. Mark’s also been helping Kelly co-host her ‘Live!’ talk show with a lot of insiders calling him the hardest working actor in the industry.

For Kelly though, anything can happen. She still hasn’t found anyone suitable enough to replace her former ‘Live!’ co-host, Michael Strahan. As many of her viewers can recall, Michael left the show after Kelly made it almost impossible for him to work with her. That’s because she was upset that she was left in the dark about his ‘Good Morning America’ transfer.

Sure, Kelly could easily leave ‘Live’ and focus on producing television shows full-time instead. But that’s not going to happen. Kelly Ripa is going to stay on her daytime talk show, regardless of whether she finds another co-host or not. The last thing Kelly wants to look like is a failure. She would rather co-host the show by herself then let anyone pull the plug on her. And by the looks of it, that might very well happen.

‘Fire Island’ debuts Thursday, April 27 at 8pm EST on the Logo network. So far both Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have not made any comments about their future plans. Also, don’t forget to check back with CDL for all the latest news and updates on Kelly Ripa right here!
