Kelly Ripa Pressured To Find Co-Host As ‘Live!’ Ratings Crash: Nobody Will Work With High-Maintenance Talk Show Diva?

Kelly Ripa is feeling the heat. Apparently, the daytime talk show host is being pressured to find a replacement for her former co-host Michael Strahan. It’s been almost one year since Michael made the jump from ‘Live!’ to ‘Good Morning America’ and Kelly still hasn’t found the right person to fill in his shoes. And now critics believe that Kelly might be jeopardizing her own role and the show’s future if she doesn’t find someone sooner rather than later.

According to The Wrap, Kelly’s ‘Live!’ numbers have slipped recently. The continuous revolving door of co-hosts helped keep things interesting and audiences engaged last summer but it’s since settled down. If ratings continue to go downhill Kelly might find herself with a major problem on her hands.

At this point, it doesn’t look like Kelly Ripa is still looking to replace Michael Strahan. After all, it’s been almost a year since he left the show. What’s more, she’s had over 66 guests help co-host the show with her since last summer. And yet not one of them has been good enough for Kelly Ripa. Sure, she would love someone like her best friend Anderson Cooper on the show, but he’s not going to leave his comfortable job at CNN to be with Kelly every morning. Jerry O’Connell and Christina Slater have also hinted that they would love to co-host with Kelly, but apparently she’s been giving them the runaround. In fact, a lot of viewers even say that Kelly is most relaxed with Mark by her side.

And of course, there’s also Kelly’s own husband, Mark Consuelos. Working with someone that you’re already married to would be tough yet Kelly has the best chemistry job, otherwise he would have taken it a long time ago.

Plus, a lot of fans can’t help but wonder if Kelly doesn’t want a co-host at all. But at the same time a lot of viewers want to see her with a full-time co-host sitting next door. And if it doesn’t happen soon, Kelly Ripa might end up slowly but surely losing her audience.
