Kendall Jenner and rapper ASAP Rocky have had us wondering for nearly a year, “are they or aren’t they a couple?” Well, those questions have now been answered, Kendall and ASAP showed up Monday night to the Met Gala hand in hand and walked the red carpet together. ASAP was not afraid to show PDA either and at one point he grabbed Kendall’s backside.
Sure this isn’t the first time the couple has been spotted on a date, ASAP Rocky and Kendall have been caught many times by paps. In the past, Kendall’s team had always played coy when asked about a possible romance. Her publicists always said that she and the rapper were only casually dating and that Kendall was so busy with her career and traveling the globe that she didn’t have time for a committed relationship.
It seems as though ASAP changed her mind as it was reported a few months ago that Kendall was “more open” to the possibility of a serious relationship.
While the Kardashians and Jenners must be pleased with the new romance, there is at least one person sure to be unhappy about this news. Kari Mayers is the stepmom to ASAP and last August she gave an interview to the Daily Mail sounding off on both Kendall and her famous reality show family.
“Everything I hear about the Kardashians makes me think they are a bad family for him to be involved with. He can do so much better. I don’t want him to be involved in that circus; he’s too good for that.” She also went on to say that she had met and really liked ASAP’s famous exes Iggy Azalea and Chanel Inman, no word on whether she had met Kendall yet or changed her mind about their romance.
Unfortunately for Kendall, it’s not the first time a boyfriend’s family disliked her. Gemma Styles, the sister of Harry Styles, and Kendall’s ex, recently made her disdain for Kendall known. Gemma has thrown shade at the Kardashians and Kanye West before, but after Kendall’s ill fated Pepsi ad aired, Gemma wasted no time taking to Twitter to criticize Kendall and her involvement in the controversial commercial.
Maybe now that Kendall and ASAP are officially together, she can win over his family. If not, it could make for uncomfortable family gatherings if his family remains unhappy about the new couple’s romance. Do you think the couple will last?
