Meghan Markle is already breaking royal protocol with the special treatment she gets at Kensington Palace. Apparently, the Hollywood actress already has VIP status even though she’s not an official member of the royal family.
Reports indicate that Prince Harry’s girlfriend is apparently “waved right through” whenever she visits her beau at Kensington Palace. For all other visitors though, they are required to fill out several forms of identification and must pose an official invitation from a member of the royal family. But for Meghan, she’s exempt from the rule and can show up at the palace whenever she pleases to do so.
According to Us Weekly, one source close to the situation even said, “Harry has made it clear that she’s to be treated like everyone else who lives there.”
But then again, there’s a good chance that Queen Elizabeth won’t be too pleased when she hears about this. Sure, everyone knows who Meghan Markle is by now, but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t need security clearance. Queen Elizabeth isn’t the kind of person who is willing to bend the rules for anyone. Plus, it would be a different situation if Harry and Meghan were engaged. But, that hasn’t happened yet.
One person who knows this all too well is Kate Middleton. She was banned from attending holiday celebrations at the Queen’s Sandringham House when she was still dating Prince William. Queen Elizabeth has made it pretty clear over the years that nobody gets any special treatment, especially if you’re not a member of the royal family.
At this point, it’s safe to say that Prince Harry is planning his future with Meghan Markle. After years of looking, he’s finally found the woman of his dreams. But it’s not a done deal until they get married, of course.
For a lot of royal observers, they believe that it’s only a matter of time before he gets down on one knee and pops the all-important question to Meghan. And when he does, then it’s without a doubt that Meghan’s life will change forever. She’ll soon become a member of the British royal family. Her new title will come with plenty of royal responsibilities and obligations.
