Meghan Markle’s ex-husband is reportedly creating a TV show that’s inspired by her relationship with Prince Harry. Meghan Markle and her husband Trevor Engelson divorced four years ago. It doesn’t seem like he’s over it though. He’s trying to profit off his connections to the Suits star with his new project. He wants to make a comedy that has a royal twist.

Everyone knows Meghan Markle is dating Prince Harry. She just opened up about their relationship to Vanity Fair. Not everyone knows that Trevor Engelson is her ex-husband. He’s a television producer behind TV series such as Snowfall. He wants to develop a comedy that’s based on a man who loses his ex-wife to a British royal. The show is also produced by Danny Zuker, Dan Farah, and Jane Kasden, reports Entertainment Weekly. It has been giving the green light. A pilot episode has been ordered by Fox.

The show is fictional and is not based on Engelson’s real life. The lead character is not based on Meghan Markle, according to Deadline. The tagline for the show reads: “Divorce is hard. Sharing custody is harder. Sharing custody with the British royal family in the unforgiving spotlight of London’s tabloid media is next level.” To some, it sounds like a dig at Meghan Markle’s relationship with Prince Harry. This is set to be the most talked about project on Fox.

It’s easy to see that the show was inspired by real-life events. Fox was curious to hear more about this project. Engelson’s FX series, Snowfall, has been renewed for a second season. He’s also trying to pass around an idea for his dramedy Heathers, based on the 80’s movies of the same name. He’s currently producing the Netflix movie The After Party.

Meghan Markle and her ex-husband divorced after two years of marriage. The couple married in September 2011 and split in 2013. Meghan Markle met Engelson in 2004 as they both tried to get into the entertainment industry. The couple spent most of their marriage apart. Friends close to Meghan Markle told the Daily Mail that it was clear their marriage wasn’t going to last.

Meghan Markle was the one who pulled the plug. The couple ended their marriage in 2013 and divorced in August, citing irreconcilable differences, reports the Daily Mail. Engelson kept their shared home while Meghan Markle moved to Toronto. Engelson and Meghan Markle did not remain close after their divorce, but he refused to discuss her or their split.

Meghan Markle went on to date Canadian celebrity Chef Vitiello. They met through mutual friends in 2014. Speculation surfaced she ended that relationship so she could date Prince Harry. Meghan Markle met her prince in the summer of 2016 when she flew to London and had a few drinks at the Soho House. She reportedly split from her boyfriend because he was focused on his career more than her.
