There’s a new report that indicates Nina Dobrev’s return to season 8 of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ is going to probably happen and that the show’s producers couldn’t be more excited about it. So it looks like the best is being saved for last.
For months now fans have been speculating about Nina Dobrev returning to ‘The Vampire Diaries.’ CW President Mark Pedowitz did tease fans by saying, “The best way I can answer that is, [executive producers] Julie [Plec], Kevin Williamson, the studio and The CW promise a fantastic series finale.”
So does this mean that Nina Dobrev is indeed part of the series finale? Are producers saving the best for last? It’s without a doubt that fans will be thrilled to see Nina Dobrev reprise her role as Elena Gilbert during the finale. After all, ‘The Vampire Diaries’ helped make Nina Dobrev the household name she is today.
Yet, no one knows what is going on for sure. Producers haven’t confirmed Nina’s return. If Nina did film scenes for the series finale, then it is one of the best well-kept secrets the television world has ever seen.
As far as Nina’s ex Ian Somerhalder is concerned, all he wants for ‘The Vampire Diaries’ is a happy ending. And that doesn’t necessarily include Nina Dobrev.
When asked about Nina’s return, Ian said he has ‘zero idea’ about last month. Some sources say that as a producer, Ian probably didn’t want to see Nina come back to the show. After all, their fans still can’t get over their personal break up even though both Ian and Nina have moved on.
Of course, seeing Ian and Nina on the small screen together would make for great television. But for Ian, he knows that if Nina were to return, it would over shadow the show’s series finale. And he doesn’t want to see that happen.
