Norman Reedus Hated First Half Of ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7: Despised Being Isolated, Treated Poorly!

This season of ‘The Walking Dead’ has not been an easy one for Norman Reedus. In fact, the actor himself says that he hated filming most of season 7. That’s because Norman’s character has been splintered off into new small groups several different times now. This comes after reports of the show’s strong viewer backlash to gruesome killing scenes during the season opener.

And for Norman Reedus, it hasn’t been easy filming this year, too. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Norman said that he hated having his character naked and stuck in a cell by himself so much so that he complained to the show’s producers about it. He said, “Yeah, and I mean, I understand when characters go through certain things, and mostly they’re cut off from the rest of the group, but I didn’t even see anybody. I was in a hole by myself, naked. It just did not feel right to me. I’d talk to Gimple, and I’d be like, ‘Man, this sucks. I hate this.’”

In fact, just last month, reports said that viewers were shocked over the gruesome and over-the-top violence they’ve been seeing on the show this season. The worst was Glenn and Abraham’s deaths. Viewers were shocked when Glenn’s head was smashed into a puddle of goop by Negan’s barbed wire bat. That’s why Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd was forced to make a statement about the show’s violence. She said that all of the backlash they’ve received has forced them to make some major adjustments while toning down the level of violence for the remainder of the season.

Of course, that’s not the only problem Norman Reedus has been dealing with this season. Earlier reports indicated that Norman was looking to get a hefty pay raise from the show. Many television actors make up to $1 million dollars an episode.

Norman fought hard to get producers to give him the pay raise many fans believe he rightfully deserves. After all, ‘The Walking Dead’ is one of the highest-rated shows on television with a huge fan base. Norman managed to renegotiate his contract from $124,000 per episode to a hefty $550,000 per episode this season.
