Princess Diana's Anniversary Tribute: Harper’s Bazaar Publishes Photo Exhibit Featuring Her Stunning Fashions

In honor of the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, Harper’s Bazaar will publish a special collector’s edition in tribute to the late princess. The cover of the commemorative edition features a portrait of Diana taken by world-renowned photographer Patrick Demarcheliers.

The commemorative collector’s edition will be available only to those that visit the ‘Diana: Her Fashion Story’ exhibit which will open February 24 at Kensington Palace.

The ‘Diana: Her Fashion Story’ exhibit will include what has been hailed as “an extraordinary collection of garments” worn by Diana. One of the most important pieces that will be on display as part of the exhibit will be the black velvet gown Diana wore during the Princess of Wales iconic dance with john Travolta to the White House in 1985.

“Trace the evolution of [Princess Diana’s style, from the demure, romantic outfits of her first public appearances, to the glamour, elegance and confidence of her later life,” the website promoting the exhibition reveals.

The black and white portrait of Diana first graced the cover of Harper’s Bazaar in December 1995. It was published in honor of Diana’s visit to the United States when the princess was recognized for her philanthropic work with children.

The publication was granted permission by Demarchelier to republish the portrait that pays tribute to the ultimate Royal style icon. The closing date for the ‘Diana: Her Fashion Story’ has not yet been determined.

It was recently announced that Prince William and Prince Harry consult with a team of experts to create and erect a statue of Diana in the gardens at Kensington Palace. The assembled team, led by William and Harry, will raise private funds for the project, choose a sculptor and organize the installation of the statue of Diana.

Diana’s grandchildren will have the opportunity to gaze out and see the monument to the grandmother whose life tragically ended at the age of 36. Prince William and Kate Middleton will make apartment 1-A their full-time home this fall.

It is expected that Kate Middleton will carry out charitable works to honor Prince William and Prince Harry’s late mother. Those charities will focus on children, HIV/AIDS awareness, and mental health awareness.
