Princess Diana’s secret recordings during her Prince Charles marriage have been revealed. New reports say that Diana secretly recorded herself during her awful fights with Prince Charles before their separation.
Princess Diana’s biographer Andrew Morton claims that Diana used to record herself in private whenever she was feeling emotionally distraught about her situation with Charles.
Diana also hated the way her husband made her feel about her body and her weight. Diana suffered from an eating disorder after Charles reportedly touched her stomach during a public engagement and called her chubby. During one of her secret recordings, Diana detailed how shocked she was to have shrunk down from a 29-inch waist to a 23-inch wait in only a matter of a few short months. Her weight loss, of course, was mostly because of her bulimia.
In the recording, Diana said, “I had shrunk into nothing from February to July. I had shrunk to nothing. I couldn’t understand it. Eventually, I worked it all out and found the proof of the pudding, and people were willing to talk to me.”
Diana also shared her feelings about Prince Charles’ affair with his then mistress, Camilla Parker-Bowles. Diana said in her tapes that whenever she tried to get some answers out of her husband, she was met with a “wall of silence.” Yet, Prince Charles wasn’t the only person who had an affair during their marriage. Diana also had a steamy romance with James Hewitt. Still, there’s no denying that Princess Diana was unhappy in her marriage for several different reasons. Camilla just happened to be one of them.
Of course, Buckingham Palace is yet to respond to the tapes, although there’s very little chance that it will happen. Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles are also feeling very frustrated over the situation. Sure, they know that the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death will bring back a lot of memories. But they didn’t expect to see so many dirty details being dished about Charles and Diana’s divorce.
The last thing that Prince Charles wants to do right now is to relive all of the pain he went through during their separation. He has a new life with Camilla now and has moved on. Unfortunately though, it seems like the public and the media still haven’t.
