Rhonda Rousey is engaged. The famous Women’s Ultimate Fighting Champion is set to get married to fellow UFC Champ Travis Browne. The couple has been together since 2015. The engagement was made during an exclusive interview with TMZ. Rhonda and Travis had just returned from a ten day vacation in New Zealand when they were approached by the reporter who asked about the huge diamond engagement ring Rhonda was wearing. The couple admitted that the romantic proposal took place a week ago in New Zealand with the future groom popping the question under a waterfall.
Rhonda Rousey is known as one of the best athletes in the world and is said to be the UFC’s highest paid fighter, male or female. She was the first American woman to earn an Olympic medal in judo at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing when she took home the Bronze. Rhonda made her mixed martial arts debut in 2010. She has won 12 consecutive MMA fights, with six of those being in the UFC. Rhonda suffered her first loss in November 2015 to fellow fighter Holly Holm. Rhonda is also an actress, appearing in movies such as “The Expendables 3”, “The Fast and the Furious 7”, and “Entourage”.
Travis Browne began his mixed martial arts career in 2009 and joined the UFC in March 2010. He has two MMA Awards. Travis was previously married to Erin Webb, who accused the UFC fighter of domestic abuse. He was removed from UFC’s International Fight Week while the domestic charges were being investigated, but he was reinstated due to “inconclusive evidence”. Travis and Rhonda started seeing each other after Travis and Webb separated. Travis has two sons from a previous marriage.
The newly engaged duo has not had time to formally plan their wedding or even set a date for the upcoming nuptials, but Rhonda added that she hoped it would take place “soon”. The bride to be also explained that she has never planned a wedding before, so she’s not sure what all goes into wedding preparations, but she is keeping an open mind about the wedding date and type of ceremony they will have. But don’t necessarily expect an over the top ceremony, Rhonda claims that the couple doesn’t need anything fancy like flowers or decorations, rather “just somewhere to go, something to eat”.
