Is Ryan Seacrest getting a bigger paycheck than Kelly Ripa on ‘Live?’ That’s what fans can’t help but wonder, especially since the popular television co-host already earns a lot of money on the small screen. Kelly Ripa announced this week that Ryan Seacrest is her new co-host on her daytime talk show, ‘Live!’ Apparently, Kelly searched long and hard for one year after her fallout with her previous co-star, Michael Strahan.
For the longest time, a lot of viewers believed that Kelly was trying to host the show on her own. She had a heavy rotation of guest stars come onto the show, but she was reluctant to pick anyone to fill Michael Strahan’s shoes.
And now that Ryan is on the show, he’ll be forced to fly to New York City every Sunday morning to tape the show for four days before returning back to Los Angeles. Given all of the traveling he’ll be doing to co-host the show, a lot of viewers can’t help but wonder if he was given an attractive salary for the job. After all, he’s high in demand. Ryan was the host for ‘American Idol’ for almost 14 years. He reportedly made $15 million dollars from that gig alone.
If that weren’t enough, he also has a three-year deal with iHeartMedia. He’s the host of ‘On Air With Ryan Seacrest’ and ‘American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest.’ He also serves as an executive producer for ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ and ‘Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve.’
Clearly, Ryan Seacrest is not going to host ‘Live!’ for nothing. He knows what he’s worth. Plus, it took Kelly Ripa almost a year to find a co-host. Either no one wanted the job or no one was as qualified to do the job as Ryan Seacrest.
Many estimates say that Ryan’s annual salary is $55 million, but no one knows that for certain. Kelly Ripa, on the other hand, is an estimated $17 million dollars. There’s a good chance that Ryan could easily be making more money than Kelly Ripa. Although the only person who knows the truth is Ryan, and of course, his accountant.
