Gerard Argent was back in town! However, the hunter hasn’t learned a single thing since he first started to hunt Scott and his friends. So he was back in order to help a new generation of hunters and he didn’t care who got hurt even if they were innocent kids. Brett for one hadn’t gone after anyone or broken whatever else rule there was yet the guidance counselor had picked him because he was easy target. He was alone and injured so she thought that she could kill him without much of a fight.
Yet, Gerard had talked to Ms. Monroe about that. He noticed that she liked to run right into danger and he told that she shouldn’t confuse luck with actual skill because no one should run blindly into a situation. So Gerard saved her life again to prove that point. She went running after Brett’s cell phone and it turned out to be a trap. Brett had made sure to lure her to the phone and he was going to kill her with the same arrow that she was going to kill him with, but Gerard moved her out of the way at the last second and that put Brett back on the run.
Brett didn’t have any backup or weapons and he was injured. But the phone call he made before he ditched his phone had been enough for his sister Lori to realize he was in danger. She went looking for him and found his blood on his lacrosse stick. So she got Scott and he alerted the others. Scott had enlisted Liam and a very upset Malia to help him search for Brett and in the meantime, Mason was with Lydia. Lydia can sometimes force a premonition and they had been hoping that she could do that again to get Brett’s location.
So Lydia tried staring off into a flame again and for some reason it simply wouldn’t work. She first thought that Mason and Corey were breaking her concentration by talking too much however that wasn’t it. The guys had eventually quieted down and she still couldn’t see anything. Though Lydia later believed that she should go back to the place of her last premonition to see if that triggered anything so she let the boys returned to the library where they unfortunately, caught some attention.
Corey has been seen disappearing and reappearing around school and Nolan wasn’t the only one that was freaked out. There had been another boy there as well and he told Nolan that he knew a way they could test Corey to see what he was. However, while Nolan had needed some convincing at first, he needed answers and so did the others. So Nolan went up to Corey and Mason at their table and he stabbed Corey through the hand before either of them could react. And so Corey had no time to hide as Nolan grabbed for his hand and before long it was over.
Nolan had showed everyone in that library that Corey’s hand had managed to heal within seconds and not even Mason’s denial about what happened had been enough to change anyone’s mind. They now suspected Corey as being different and Nolan getting a sample of Corey’s DNA had hurt their case. But as Corey’s cover was slowly unraveling, Brett’s position became untenable. He thought that he could hide down in the tunnels and that the hunters wouldn’t look for him underground yet he hadn’t been counting on Gerard.
Gerard was an old hand at what he did and so he knew where to look once they couldn’t track Brett aboveground. Yet, Gerard and Ms. Monroe had also realized that Brett had backup after Liam left a howl to let Brett know that they were coming and so he planned out everything. He triggered some of the old traps in the tunnels and that forced the pack to split up just like he wanted. So Ms. Monroe had asked him what they were doing and she had been told that they were going to kill them all.
Gerard’s greatest dream has always been to kill off the entire wolf pack and he thought that they had the opportunity now his son was supposedly elsewhere. However, Gerard had been wrong about Chris because Chris Argent came back when he heard that there was something in the morgue that wasn’t quite dead. He had gotten the call from Melissa McCall and she said that she had tried to take a blood sample off a body yet couldn’t because she said that she felt something like fear whenever she tried to get near it. So Chris had come to her aid for one reason and the body hadn’t been it.
He had come when she called because things were still odd between them after they kissed and he thought that he owed her. Yet, he felt the fear too. He had gone near the body and it had nearly destroyed him. So together they worked to get that sample, but the sample didn’t reveal a thing because whatever that was that didn’t have a face also didn’t have DNA or any type cellular structure. So neither Melissa nor Chris knew what they were dealing with and his father had managed to turn a whole town against the wolves overnight.
Gerard had tricked Lori and her brother into coming out into traffic and the two had been run before long. So Liam hadn’t reacted well! He revealed his wolf nature and howled in a very public place that let everyone know that werewolves were real.
And that there was only one way to stop them – death!
