‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ is back, but unfortunately the show isn’t looking too good. A new report indicates that ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ premiered this week with weak ratings, despite bringing Arnold Schwarzenegger as the new host of the show. NBC fired President-elect Donald Trump from ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ back in 2015 because of derogatory statements he made regarding immigrants.
‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ debuted this season for the very first time without its original star Donald Trump. While insiders were hoping that Hollywood actor and former California state governor Arnold Schwarzenegger would be able to attract viewers, that hasn’t happened. Instead, ratings have been down about 46 percent compared to last season.
One report even says that ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ with Arnold had a 1.3 rating in adults from 18-49 with 4.9 million viewers. That’s 46 percent lower than Season 7’s debut two years ago. What’s more, ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ got slammed by another unscripted reality television show during its 8-10 pm timeslot. ABC’s ‘The Bachelor’ Season 21 won the night with a 1.8 rating and a whopping 6.56 million viewers.
This season of ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ has a cast that includes Boy George, Jon Lovitz and Motley Crue singer Vince Neil competing to raise money for the charities of their choice. Arnold has replaced Donald Trump’s ‘You’re fired’ catchphrase on the show with ‘You’re terminated.’
Of course, former host Donald Trump has not made any comments about Arnold Schwarzenegger taking over the show or the ratings reports for you. Yet, he’s said that ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ was often one of NBC’s highest rated shows while he was the host. Reports also say that Arnold has appointed his nephew as one of his advisors on the show.
Does this mean that Arnold will get the boot after just one season on the show? Will ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ look for another host? No one knows for sure. But if ratings do continue to slump, there’s a good chance someone will get terminated soon enough. Viewers will just have to wait and see what happens next.
