Alicia’s first pair of the knockout round is Chris Blue versus Quizz Swanigan. She put them together because of their shared R&B/Soul vibe. Chris will perform Superstition by Stevie Wonder. Chains by Nick Jonas will be performed by Quizz. Chris is worried about competing against Quizz. Chris sings first and presents a strong performance. Blake is especially impressed with his performance. Gwen piles on the praise for Chris. She says she is his biggest fan. She thinks Quizz is magical. Adam thinks Chris killed it but Quizz was almost superhuman. Blake truly believes that Chris will win this year’s competition. Alicia decides that Chris wins the knockout round and will compete in the live competition. Gwen steals Quizz for her team.

Autumn Turner and Hanna Eyre are the first pairing for Adam. Autumn was a steal from Team Alicia. She thought was going home after the battle round and is very grateful to be on Adam’s team. She will perform Respect by Aretha Franklin. Hanna will sing Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis. Adam wants her to work on her high notes as she can be a little flat. Both offer strong performances. Blake would choice Hanna if he had to pick. Gwen loved Hanna’s performance due to her warm and rich voice. She was disappointed in Autumn’s song choice. Adam ultimately picks Hanna.

Hunter Plake and Johnny Gates are Gwen’s first pairing and she made the choice because of their alternative rock style.  Before the Voice Hunter had only sung in church.  He will perform I Want To Know What Love Is by Foreigner.  Gwen encourages him to push when he hits the high notes.  Johnny has been singing in bands for 30 years.  This is his first gig as a solo artist.  He will sing Million Reasons by Lady Gaga.  Adam would pick Hunter and Blake agrees.  Hunter did a familiar song but was able to make it his own.  Alicia loved Johnny’s song choice and would pick him.  Gwen loved them both but picks Hunter as the winner of this knockout but is sad to see Johnny go home.

Even though one is country and one is pop Blake paired up Casi Joy and Felecia Temple for the knockout challenge. Casi will sing My Church by Maren Morris. She choice it because she wanted to perform a current country song that she feels really helps showcase her range. My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion is the song for Felecia. Her grandmother is her inspiration. Felicia kills it and gives all of the judge’s chills. Adam would pick Casi if he had too. Blake agrees and picks Casi to go on for his team in the live show.

Blake teases Adam for his faux hawk. Adam pairs up his rock and rollers Johnny Hayes versus Josh West. Johnny will perform Statesboro Blues by the Allman Brothers Band. Josh is a little intimidated by Johnny’s presence. He will sing Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas. Adam want him to build to an 11 not be there for the whole song.

Blake loves the achiness of Johnny’s voice but also loved Josh’s moves. He would pick Josh. Alicia loved them both. Gwen found Josh’s performance super impressive and would pick him if she was forced. Adam declares Josh as the winner of the knockout.

The final pairing of the night is for Team Alicia. She puts Ashley Levin against Lilli Passero. Ashley decides to sing Fancy by Bobbie Gentry. She feels like the older version has soulfulness she can relate to. Lilli will sing Tears Dry On Their Own by Amy Winehouse. Both have deep connections to their song choices.

Gwen loved them both but would pick Ashley while Adam feels that Lilli has the potential to take it all the way. He and Blake would both pick Lilli. Alicia decides Ashley is the winner of the knockout and will go on the live performances for her team. Adam and Blake both try to steal Lilli. She decides to go to Adam’s team.

THE END!
