The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Adam Newman (most recently played by Justin Hartley) will be watching the partial solar eclipse near to the wooded area where he escaped from the cabin blast. Still existing in a zombie-like state, Y&R’s most infamous character is building his strength while being cared for by an electric woman all her own.
Amnesia is a horrible fate that many human beings suffer in the real world. In the land of soap operas, the condition is merely a necessary plot device that always lifts. Yes, this is the most plausible explanation of why Adam would not have made contact with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and his sons since last September.
The plural use of the son term will become a key part in this character’s eventual return. But for now, let’s concentrate on how Adam survived, what mysterious lady is nursing him back to health and who will embody the character last played by Hartley.
Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) is kooky, but hardly a professional killer. That’s why the plan she made to kill Adam didn’t work. Oh, she damaged the gas line that led into the cabin, but the shackle she applied to his hand was breakable. But how could Adam have escaped if he was knocked out?
Well, the drug Chloe used in the dart she shot into Adam wasn’t powerful enough. So after she left, he broke free, ran out of the cabin in the opposite direction of Chloe and was out of Chelsea’s and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) sight lines. Convenient for Y&R’s writers and for the man of nine lives.
Would it be too outlandish to say that Daisy Carter (Yvonne Zima) somehow happened to be in the woods that day, heard the blast and found Adam lying in a pile of debris? Yes it would be. However, that’s where Sheila’s (Kimberlin Brown) daughter through Tom Fisher (Roscoe Born) and the mother of Lucy Romalotti (last played as a baby by Abigail and Olivia Moore) happened to be. She’s been caring for Adam at her rustic abode ever since.
Consider the obvious future cross-over potential (meaning Sheila) by having Daisy as Adam’s nursemaid. Her career choice might be written as having followed in her mother’s professional footsteps. The character’s links to Lauren (Tracey Bregman), Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), Gloria (Judith Chapman) and others are already in order.
Speculating about Adam and Daisy being, or becoming romantically involved also isn’t a bridge too far. Actually, that would be incredible on many levels.
So who will be cast to play the resurrected Adam? The man who won’t recall his old life at first. Won’t be in love with Chelsea. Won’t know that Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) is his first-born child, or realize that Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) isn’t Nick’s son, but his own. And the person who will hold no ill will toward Victor because he doesn’t know that he’s his father.
Why, that has to be Michael Muhney who will ink a deal with Y&R sometime this fall. Who else? CDL is a leading source for everything linked to The Young and the Restless. Check back regularly for Y&R spoilers and news!
