The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Lily (Christel Khalil) will be stunned to learn what’s said during this week’s deposition. Cane (Daniel Goddard) assured her that everything Juliet (Laur Allen) said about him was purely a ploy to get money from Brash and Sassy. But Lily now believes that Juliet wasn’t just being vindictive due to a job loss, but instead is a woman scorned.
Juliet and Cane spent an ill-fated night together in Tokyo, Japan, or so that’s what she says, or seems to believe. It’s actually hard to know if this character is telling the truth, is offering her inebriated recollection of said events or has been lying all along to gain career leverage.
Allen’s character wouldn’t have known that she would eventually be fired by Victoria (Amelia Heinle) because of the dashed DARE commercial shoot. So if Juliet has been stretching the truth since the day she arrived in Genoa City about her rendezvous with Cane, it wasn’t to eventually file a sexual harassment suit.
Assume that Juliet used that situation in order to pressure Cane to help her get hired. Michael (Christian LeBlanc) could argue that she sexually harassed him in that instance, or he could at least cut the legs out from under Juliet’s claim.
Assume instead that Juliet has been telling the truth all along. She and Cane were involved that night and the claim she filed is simply a result of the anger she’s feeling for having been unjustly fired. In that instance, Cane may have a stronger defense.
Regardless of whatever Juliet has been doing, how Leslie (Angell Conwell) pursues perceived justice or what devices Michael uses to defend his Brash and Sassy clients, Cane’s life will be damaged. Lily is affected by the personal fallout from this matter, not the linked business agenda.
Lily will pressure Cane to tell her the truth. He’ll do so after realizing that his plan to cover-up the shameful truth has failed.
Cane thinks he’s the victim of unfortunate circumstances. But he choose to get drunk that night. For some weird reason, he allowed himself to become involved with Juliet in his hotel room. Then he decided to lie about what happened to his wife and to Vickie.
Of course the Los Angeles sabotage issue hasn’t been revealed. But if that issue comes out Hades will break loose and Cane’s job will certainly be lost.
