The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) will attempt to kill her best friend, will she succeed. Will she do so by pushing Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) out of a second-story Chancellor mansion window on the day of her wedding to Kevin (Greg Rikaart)? Information Chelsea learns will spark the climax to Y&R’s most controversial arc in many years. Will Chloe be killed from the fall or remain in a coma?
Chloe’s madness never left her. But in January 2014, she gained a semblance of peace in believing that Adam (then played by Michael Muhney) had died. However, her fragile state of mind was shattered the instant she learned that Adam was alive and had been hiding behind the face of Gabriel Bingham.
She returned to Genoa City in disguise twice, once threatening to kill Adam with a gun at Chancellor Park during a memorial event for Delia. And again last summer, when Victor (Eric Braeden) orchestrated her release from a mental health facility in order to enable her frame of Adam for the murder of Constance Bingham (Sally Kellerman).
The origin of this entire arc can be traced back to the fall of 2013. During a fateful October night Adam is believed to have accidentally hit and killed Delia (Sophie Pollono) with his black SUV. Circumstantial physical evidence was later found by the accused under the wheel well of his vehicle. Adam didn’t come forward and was later revealed as the the apparent criminal, but escaped jail time through a crooked reduced sentence.
Chloe and Billy (then played by Billy Miller) were equally ravaged by overflow amounts of grief and rage. By January 2014, Billy confronted the unjailed supposed monster with a gun. Adam was forced to revisit the crash scene and then drive Billy on a road out of Genoa City. Adam attempted to wrest the equalizer from Billy’s hand, a shot was fired, and the fabled SUV veered over a sharp hill.
The crashed vehicle caught fire and Billy (as then temporarily played by David Tom) escaped. Adam crawled away just before the SUV exploded but wasn’t fully seen on screen again until the fall, when Justin Hartley debuted. Bingham died pulling him from the vehicle, but his body was ID’d as Adam’s due to a bribe.
Chloe has claimed since last summer that she’s forgiven Adam, all the while waiting for the right moment to ice him. Whether she actually killed the man she hates last September, 2016 remains unknown. Might it be possible that Adam was pulled from the cabin after Chloe darted him and has been held hostage ever since?
