The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Jack (Peter Bergman) will learn that Victor (Eric Braeden) framed Adam Newman (Justin Hartley). After recently realizing that Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) is still up for The Moustache bashing, Mr. Abbott will soon discover that the formerly loyal Newman clan will be open to his latest take-down plan. Together they’ll attempt to sink Victor the destroyer.
Three-fourths of the Newman contingent has already waged war of a very personal nature. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) had no problem convincing Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) to turn against their father. Each party agreed to play nice in public, but to shun the Black Knight behind closed doors. Nick’s discovery of Victor’s connection with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson), who admitted to blowing up the cabin and thereby allegedly killing Adam, fueled this dramatic turn in family events.
Adam’s death deeply affected Victor because he knew that his own actions were connected to his son’s demise. However, Victor didn’t know that Chloe damaged the propane line that is now believed to have caused the explosion when that tragedy took place last September (2016). Of course The Young and the Restless viewers remain uncertain if Adam is actually dead as no body was recovered.
Victor’s demeanor and actions truly changed since the cabin explosion took place. His family was initially suspicious, but concluded that Adam’s alleged death had caused Victor to gain a new perspective.
Approximately a year earlier after the Marco (also played by Peter Bergman) arc played out, Jack opted to pull back from his decade’s long war with Victor. Phyllis felt betrayed and began a romantic relationship with Billy (Jason Thompson) in a The Young and the Restless storyline that at least polarized Y&R’s audience.
Billy betrayed his brother in part to hurt Jack. Phyllis was rebounding more than striking back at her eventual ex-husband. But the former Phack now shares a renewed interest in making Victor pay for his moral crimes.
As the months passed, Jack and Phyllis reached a point of co-existence. Phyllis was allowed to remain at Jabot as part of their divorce settlement and then left the company for Fenmore’s. But she was pulled back under the corporate umbrella after Jack and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) agreed to a merger deal.
The Young and the Restless spoilers hint that Jack will focus on Victor’s vulnerability when he learns that his misdeeds crossed more than moral lines. Any evidence that can be obtained regarding his enduring nemesis’ actions will give Mr. Abbott the ammunition he needs.
Victor will soon face one of his greatest challenges as Captain Jack and his army prepare to destroy a now-perceived common enemy.
