The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Kevin (Greg Rikaart) will wake up and drag himself back to Dr. Harris’ (Ron Melendez) house of horrors. The love of Mr. Fisher’s life is there. So it doesn’t matter how far Kevin had to travel, or how he managed to locate an address in a strange locale without the aid of GPS. In fact as Wednesday’s spoilers show, Kevin will engage in a gun struggle with Dr. Harris and win!
What does matter is that Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) is being held captive by a man who’s turned out to be kookier than the woman Kevin loves. And that’s saying something, as devoted fans know.
Viewers and Chloe simultaneously learned that the bad doctor is also deeply disturbed. Sadly, his college-aged daughter was hit by a car and killed in the recent past. The only seeming difference between that backstory and Chloe’s is that Harris said a drunk driver killed his child.
But that tidbit should make viewers wonder if an impaired driver, who obviously wasn’t Adam Newman (then played by Michael Muhney) was the one who ended Delia’s (Sophie Pollono) life?
Kevin had only been with Chloe at Harris’ residence for about a week, or so. Viewers have never needed proper medical credentials to diagnose Kevin with ADHD long ago. With that physiological fact applying in his case, Chloe’s soul mate couldn’t stand being cooped up anymore and impulsively wanted to escape.
Dr. Harris appeared to be convinced that Kevin was heading back to Genoa City in order to retrieve Bella (Gia Poeme). However, Harris told Chloe after Kevin left that he would never make it back home. Kevin’s car was sabotaged by Harris. After fixing a flat tire, Kevin noticed that smoke was coming from inside the car. He exited just as the apparent late-model Camry went boom.
Savvy fans have taken note that no product placements are used in soaps. That seems odd, as this clear revenue stream would surely enhance bottom line margins.
More important than real life advertising rate matters is Kevin’s existence. Yes, he was blown by the force of the explosion to the ground, which left him in an apparent unconscious state. Yet, Y&R fans know that Rikaart’s tenured cast status and imminent summer write-out surely rated much higher than an ignominious character exit. So Kevin was alright.
Khloe’s last adventure is underway, as both actors are leaving the cast for now. The subsequent return to Dr. Harris’ home, confrontation and escape with Chloe will prove to be fulfilling.
