The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that more problems could be brewing for Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalil). Now that Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) is in the picture, Cane may have trouble keeping his jealousy at bay. Lily and Cane still have some trust issues in their relationship.
Of course, Lily isn’t the only one with an attractive coworker. Cane is working with Juliet (Laur Allen) on the Asia rollout and there’s always a chance that they’ll share a spark. It’s obvious that Cane is enjoying partnering with Juliet on this project. They may develop feelings for each other if they’re not careful.
However, Y&R has been down the cheating road before. Perhaps they’ll stop Cane and Lily from going too far this time around. The Young and the Restless has shifted gears since the writing team change. It appears they’re focusing on making couples stronger through a bit of conflict.
That might be what’s going on in this storyline. Cane and Lily could both be tempted, but ultimately resist. There might even be some misunderstandings in the middle of this plot. It would be a way to stir up some drama without forcing Lily or Cane to cross the line.
Even if one of them indulges in a few kisses, that’s better than hitting the sheets. After a good dose of clashing, Cane and Lily might recommit to their marriage. The “Lane” pairing has a passionate fan base, so The Young and the Restless may keep them together. It’s nice to have a handful of mostly solid couples on canvas.
If everything plays out like this, we’ll still need a love interest for Jordan. Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and Devon (Bryton James) seem to be sorting out their differences. That might mean that Hilary isn’t an option. Who else could fall for Jordan? Mariah (Camryn Grimes) might be a fun gal to put in his orbit.
Jordan recently came on GC Buzz to help Victoria (Amelia Heinle) promote some new products. Since Jordan was a hit, maybe the show will ask him to do more segments. If Mariah gets to know Jordan, she could start to see him as a real catch.
Likewise, Jordan could be drawn to Mariah. A hot hookup wouldn’t be out of the question. When Scott (Daniel Hall) arrives, Mariah might catch his eye as well. Voila! A love triangle is born! It would be interesting to watch Mariah wrestle with complicated feelings.
