The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the coming Adam (formerly played by Justin Hartley) recast will create a different dynamic than existed last time this character returned from the dead in 2014. Whether Michael Muhney or another candidate gets the role of Adam Newman Y&R spoilers tease that Chadam will not reunite this go-round. Instead, Adam will be infuriated that Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) gave her heart to Nick (Joshua Morrow) and will file for divorce.
But how will Adam reunite with Sharon (Sharon Case) when she’s with Scott (Daniel Hall)? Well, Mr. Grainger’s government operative work will lead to Adam being found. That element in the plot will spark Shadam’s reconnection.
Rumored recast news fueled viewer’s sustained hopes that Y&R would revisit the Adam character. It currently appears as though Hartley won’t be returning on a part-time basis, or for a cameo and that a hoped-for second stint for Michael Muhney won’t become a reality.
Whoever is cast to play Adam, assuming that said speculation bears out, won’t return to Genoa City in the same state of mind as was evidenced in the recent past. Hartley’s version of Adam wanted nothing more than to regain his life with Chelsea and Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois).
A face change wouldn’t be wise for this actor change and likely won’t be explored. Simply stating that Adam Newman will now be played by (insert hired actor’s name here) will suffice and will be accepted by reasonable fans who understand what the suspension of disbelief means.
Scott is actually an undercover government operative. Sharon doesn’t know that yet. Christine (Lauralee Bell) recently contacted her nephew to tell him that another case was waiting. That easy tease could be the setup that pushes Scott toward Adam’s path.
How did Adam survive Chloe’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) cabin blast and why hasn’t he returned to town since that September event took place? Two connected questions that will be answered, after which Adam will discover that Chelsea and Nick became Chick.
Viewers haven’t forgotten that these brothers bonded (finally) just before Adam apparently died. He’d asked Nick to look out for Connor if his then-prison stay was going to extend for decades. Of course, Victor’s (Eric Braeden) orchestrated escape plan changed the reason why Nick followed through on Adam’s request. But his brother’s supposed death also allowed Nick to romantically bond with Chelsea, which neither person expected to happen, or planned.
Adam is a hot head, like his dad. So he won’t be able to accept Chelsea’s explanation of Chick. He’ll then tell Nick that he’s Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) real father. Nick will respond by telling Adam that Victor was working with Chloe to frame him. Yes, many booms are coming as soon as the recast happens and Adam is written back into Genoa City.
