The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Scott Elrod Shares Tragic News – Beloved Dog Sonny Passes Away

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Scott Elrod has taken to his social media account announcing the his beloved dog and pal, Sonny had passed away. Anyone who has a pet knows how much they become a part of the family and its clear how much he loved his sweet pal Sonny!

The announcement comes only a day after he and his fiancee Vanessa Vazart, Easton celebrate the first birthday of their son, Easton Thomas. Everyone from CDL would like to offer their condolences at such a heartbreaking loss and may Sonny rest in peace.

Elrod first appeared on The Young and the Restless as Joe Clark in 2014. He was a bit of a mystery, at first seeming like he had no ties to Genoa City other than his ex-wife, Avery Bailey Clark (Jessica Collins). It was quickly revealed he was an acquaintance of Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) and had a short fling with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) while living in New York.

Y&R’s Joe Clark became probably one of the most hated characters, not because of his obsession with his ex-wife and her then beau, Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) but because he bedded Lily Winters Ashby (Christel Khalil) on more than one occasion; almost causing one of the most beloved super couples, Cane and Lily to end their marriage.

Thankfully, Lily manages to see through Joe and his lies and helps expose him as the hooded man who raped Avery and shortly thereafter he is sent to prison for extorting billionaire Devon Hamilton (Bryton James).

Since leaving The Young and the Restless, Scott Elrod has been busy and fans were able to see him play as Dr. Meredith Grey’s love interest, Dr. William Thorpe on the Primetime hit series Grey’s Anatomy and later that year he was cast as celebrity party host, Travis Brenner on NBC’s Chicago Fire.
