The Young and the Restless spoilers have documented the romantic roller coasters Victor (Eric Braeden), Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) have ridden in recent times. But who among this trio is the best potential partner for available characters?
Nikki and Ashley have both been married to Victor and they’ve been married to other men. Many high-profile people have options of the heart. Combine that with a limited regular contract cast list and there are only so many potential pairings that can happen at any one time. So it should prove interesting to see who each of these characters bonds with next.
Victor is the alpha male that every misguided woman is looking for. That’s why Nikki loves him so much. He’s her protector. The one who knows her better than anyone else on the planet and the man she simultaneously can’t stand. Yes, soap devotees and fans of real life, that’s chemistry personified.
But Victor’s deranged pursuits have also made Nikki’s life pure Hades on many occasions, including earlier this year. He’s controlling, manipulative and vindictive, sometimes all in the same episode, or sentence of dialogue. Who might be his next match? Age-appropriate isn’t often his style. So he’s likely to go younger once again. Viewers are right to think that a new woman will be written into Genoa City soon.
Now, Nikki. Yes, she’s picky (or pikki, if readers prefer). The former go-go girl found a better life with a rich man. Hardly a moocher, she did and does actually love Victor. Always has, always will, regardless of whether they’re married, split, or somewhere in between.
Nikki is also a good mother who genuinely loves her children. She’s also faced down alcohol on more than one occasion. So, on every level, except the Moustache Mezzanine, she’s strong. She’ll make someone a good romantic partner. It seems Jack (Peter Bergman) has pushed himself to the front of that line.
And finally, Ashley. This woman is fierce. A brilliant chemist who’s remained drop dead gorgeous through her mature years, as Ravi (Abhi Sinha) knows. She’s arguably handled Victor and Jack like no other woman in GC history. That alone qualifies her as truly outstanding.
Will she give in to Sinha’s character, as he hopes? It would be a nice turn away from the type of guys she’s been drawn to over the years. Some Y&R fans may be wondering if she and Victor will reconnect now that he’s free again. Others want to believe that Ashley is much wiser than that.
