The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint at trouble for Cane at the workplace. Juliet Helton, played by Laur Allen, has been quietly waiting, almost lurking in the background, all too eager to help Cane (Daniel Goddard) make a high stakes pitch for Brash & Sassy to enter the Asian market.
But what do we really know about Juliet? Juliet is a freelance consultant with knowledge of the inner workings of Japanese business protocol. She was hired to help Cane Ashby set up a distribution deal in Japan.
She has what seems to almost be “inside information”, and show off her abilities when given the opportunity. Juliet and Cane are set to meet with Sato (Richard Narita), a prominent yet ultra-conservative Japanese businessman who past dealings with Victor.
Juliet advised Cane on Japanese business culture, but somehow failed to advise Cane against physical contact, as Cane went in for a “bro hug”, and almost destroyed the deal, according to Juliet. Sato is not a frat boy! What was Cane thinking? As a conservative and traditional businessman, Mr. Sato appears to be offended by Cain’s gesture. Juliet then went to Mr. Sato to speak to him, and then the deal was back on.
During the video chat scenes, you will notice that Juliet is almost silent in front of Victoria, smiling and nodding as she lets Cane assure Victoria that everything is under control. After closing a deal with Sato, Victoria urged Cane and Juliet to celebrate with a night on the town.
Juliet smiles at Cane and flirtatiously tells him she will be his “personal tour guide.” When Cane tries to call Lily, Juliet urges him that the driver is waiting, and they leave for a driven tour of the city. Cane, however, is more interested in drinking sake and doing shots. Juliet mentions they should go to dinner, but does not really do anything to stop him from pounding shots, slurring, and staggering around.
While Cane is in his drunken stupor, he expresses his gratitude to Juliet, and says she saved the deal, and he owes it all to her. Juliet then asks him for a “small” favor. Juliet confides to Cane that she has been a freelancer for a while, and she keeps hearing about how she is an asset to Brash & Sassy. Juliet immediately declares that she sees herself as the Asian market Lead at Brash & Sassy, and asks Cane what he thinks. Cane says he will have to check with Victoria, since she is the big boss, but it shouldn’t be a problem.
The next morning, Cane wakes up and finds Juliet’s earring in his bed. When he questions her about the earring, she says someone had to put him to bed. Once she is alone, she smiles to herself as she looks at the earring, almost as if she is satisfied that her plan worked.
Juliet gives Cane a flirtatious look when he asks why her earring was in his bed and almost too innocently tells him that someone had to put him to bed. Towards the end of their conversation, she smiles knowingly and speaks in cryptic sentences, leaving Cane to speculate about whether he actually slept with Juliet that night. Juliet told him “what happens in Tokyo stays in Tokyo.”
She has undoubtedly set the stage to use this alleged tryst as leverage to secure a prominent role at Brash & Sassy. There is something very calculated about Juliet, so The Young and the Restless spoilers say don’t be surprised if she planned this whole thing, which begs the question: What are her true intentions with Brash & Sassy? And what is Juliet’s level of influence with Sato? Have they done business before? Does she have an interest in the company? Is she related to Sato?
Does Sato see Brash & Sassy as a threat to his company, and have plans of his own to destroy everything Victoria has worked so hard for? Did Sato send Juliet to seduce Cane and spy on Brash & Sassy to eliminate competition? After all, Sato has a history of dealings with Victor, and doesn’t seem too receptive to Victoria, which is why she sent Cane in the first place.
Does Juliet have feelings for Cane, or is she using him to get a promotion? Will Juliet pressure Cane to recommend her for a permanent position at Brash & Sassy? Let us know in the comments below.
