The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Will Sharon Witness Dylan’s End – Steve Burton’s Swan Song Arrives

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Will Sharon Witness Dylan's End – Steve Burton's Swan Song Arrives

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Sharon (Sharon Case) will cause Dylan (Steve Burton) distress by contacting him in Miami – she might even cost him his life! Unable to resist her umpteenth impulsive action over the course of twenty-plus Genoa City years, Sharon will call her husband as he’s meeting with Alex (Jess Webb). That event will trigger Steve Burton’s swan song on Y&R.

Some longtime fans believe that Sharon is flighty, which is putting it mildly. And responding to that tag by pretending the taggers aren’t compassionate possibly represents enabling. Prescription medication and therapy allowed Case’s character to neutralize her bipolar disorder months ago. So what gives (bleached-) blondie?

Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) ghost didn’t tell her to force Dylan’s contact information out of Kevin (Greg Rikaart). Mariah (also Grimes), playing Cassie’s specter (as paid by Victor, Eric Braeden), didn’t coerce Sharon into making this irrational choice either. And that’s the rub with this woman, who’s always at fault.

If Sharon weren’t physically attractive would she be given as much slack by so many men as she has since the mid-1990’s? That question is answered with one, loud, ringing, forceful two-letter answer. No. But wait, isn’t there another slice of this story that should be eaten and digested? Yes.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Will Sharon Witness Dylan's End – Steve Burton's Swan Song ArrivesThe Young and the Restless spoilers remind fans recall that poor Dylan felt he had to bury himself in a case in order to combat the emotional torture of losing Sully (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen), who was revealed as Christian. And why was the identity of that little boy withheld from his birth mother, perceived father and non-father, who thought he was the father? Only half-truthers would say Dr. Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush).

Just think, if Dylan wouldn’t have been written down to Miami, Burton wouldn’t have run out of script, thereby ending his likable run on CBS’ classic daytime steamer. Of course, that’s not reality. But as long as Sharon-bashing is in vogue, let’s break the fourth wall and blame her for Burton leaving as well.

Pulling the curtain back viewers see that Sharon wasn’t responsible for Dylan taking this assignment to bring down Luther Fisk (no actor has been confirmed as playing this role). Dylan owns that choice. And Kevin was responsible for turning over confidential information.

Yet, all viewers who just can’t stand one of the best members of this soap’s cast during the last twenty-plus years will blame Case’s character for whatever happens next on Y&R. Yes, they will and when that happens they will be wrong. Certain Sharon had nothing to do with Steve Burton’s decision to leave Y&R! Once that choice was made a Y&R storylibe was required to make the show fit the facts.
