Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott were ordered to pay $220,000 in a default judgement to City National Bank. The bank had sued them for $400,000 for a 2010 loan they failed to pay back. The deadline for the couple to respond to the bank’s allegations was May 22nd, which the couple ignored, leading the judge to grant the default judgement.
The bank is also asking Tori to pay back over $17,000 dollars which they claim she withdrew last September and hasn’t yet repaid.
This isn’t the only financial problems the couple has faced. Last year, Tori was sued by American Express for failure to pay close to $38,000 in unpaid credit card balances. Then, this fall she was sued again for failing to pay platinum card balances totaling $87,594. In 2014, the state of California placed a tax lien of over $250,000 in unpaid taxes.
Just this past March, Dean had to appear in family court because he has almost $100,000 in unpaid child support for his oldest son, Jack, whom he shares with his first wife, Mary Jo Eustace.
Although the couple fails to pay their bills, they still live an extravagant lifestyle. Recently, Tori’s mother, Candy Spelling admitted that she has to pay the couple’s $9,500 monthly rent for their home, tuition for the couple’s children to attend private school, as well as providing groceries.
Tori was mostly cut out of her father’s will, and given only $800,000 of her father’s $100,000 million estate. Tori has opened up in the past about her money problems and blamed it on the fact that she grew up rich and still has expensive tastes.
As it turns out, financial woes aren’t the only problems Tori is having these days. For years she has feuded with Dean’s ex-wife, Mary Jo. Tori and Dean had an affair while filming a 2005 Lifetime movie together which resulted in him leaving Mary Jo for Tori.
This past weekend, their long-standing feud flared up again when Dean and Tori showed up nearly an hour late the high school graduation for Dean and Mary Jo’s son, Jack. Apparently the couple barely made it in time to see Jack receive his diploma. According to witnesses, after the graduation was over, the women failed to even acknowledge each other. In fact, Mary Jo could be seen giving Tori nasty looks after the ceremony.
