Kate Hudson is the perfect Hollywood darling. She’s blonde, tall, and gorgeous. Not to mention, she has a great personality, perfect comedic timing, and is likable. Most actresses become stuck-up after they become famous. (Paging Jennifer Lawrence.) That’s rare in Hollywood. So, why isn’t Kate Hudson acting anymore?
She’s the daughter of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, so she shouldn’t have a problem finding roles. Everyone knows that narcissism wins in Hollywood. Kate Hudson became an A-list star after she appeared in the cult classic Almost Famous in 2000. She went on to get a nod for Best Supporting Actress in 2011 for her role as Penny Lane in the rock and roll drama directed by Cameron Crowe. Hudson seemed to have a promising career at the time. It looked like she was going to become the next leading lady.
While Kate Hudson has starred in hit movies, her career has stalled. Hudson found box office gold with the release of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. It earned $100 million domestically in 2003. Fans couldn’t stop shipping Kate Hudson with Matthew McConaughey because of their onscreen chemistry. Hudson went on to star in some less-than-stellar romantic comedies. Hudson has not been able to branch out of her rom-com status.
She has become more of a celebrity rather than an actress. Kate Hudson is a household name even if her acting career hasn’t been perfect. She’s become known for her high-profile relationships with Chris Robinson and Matt Bellamy. Everyone wants to know who Kate Hudson is going to date next. She’s also been linked to singer Nick Jonas and baseball star Alex Rodriguez. Hudson is currently dating Danny Fujikawa, who happens to be another musician. It turns out she has a thing for rock stars.
Kate Hudson seems more focused on her workout line, Fabletics. She co-founded the brand in 2013. Fabletics started out as an online subscription service, but has recently rolled out to retail stores. Fabletics earned $150 million in revenue in 2015 alone. Hudson is probably make a good chunk of money from that brand. Hudson has also been making bank on social media by sharing some of her diet and fitness tips with her followers.
She still has a promising future. This year, Kate Hudson will be starring in the drama Deepwater Horizon, opposite Mark Wahlberg. Thanks to Goldie Hawn returning to movies, Hudson has been making headlines again. Hawn revealed in a new interview that she wouldn’t star with her daughter in a movie because it would be awful. She also doesn’t think their chemistry would come off well. For now, Hudson’s fans will have to wait and see if she returns to the silver screen on her own accord.
