Zoo begins tonight in Portland, Oregon with Abigail (Athena Karkanis) retrieving discs out of her vehicle after the explosion where Jackson Oz (James Wolk) and Tessa (Hilary Jardine) are; she drops them accidentally leaving one behind. The explosion killed 96 and another 100 wounded, Jackson feels he is responsible and is determined to find the bomber.

Jamie thinks it might be about the “safe zone” but he thinks it’s too coincidental that she bombed the same day they found the new hybrid. Tessa is shocked she targeted the hybrid but they agree they need to find her.

In New York, there is also an explosion being investigated, they find a symbol among the debris and are trying to identify it; Logan (Josh Salatin) tells the analyst to stop wasting her time as he knows where the hard drive came from.

While flying towards Siberia, Logan attempts to call Jamie Campbell (Kristen Connolly) but she is busy with Clementine Lewis (Gracie Dzieeny) who is showing her where her dad, Mitch Morgan (Billy Burke) is being held. When Jamie questions whether Mitch is really there or she is just chasing a ghost, Clem shows her a photo of Mitch inside a tank. She tells Jamie she doesn’t know how nor why but her dad is still alive.

In Siberia, the girl claiming to be Clementine is trying to talk to Mitch, when the IADG team comes in asking her if she asked him the question. She wants him to rest and tells Mitch to relax and not to mind the agent, but when they are told a storm is coming; Mitch grabs her hand and tells her to stay with him.

Tessa catches Jackson looking up information on Jackson Oz and she wonders if he is connected to the bombers. When he keeps his identity to himself, she thinks he is just being paranoid and putting the weight of the bombings and deaths on his shoulders. She looks at the photo of the man they are calling Jackson Oz and says this is all Jackson and his crazy father’s fault. She reminds him the Shepherd hunters will find Oz and make him pay while he is a caring, compassionate man who cares about saving hundreds of lives.

Leanne shares that they have made progress in the synthetic hormone that has achieved ovulation; and although the egg was not viable, no one else has come close to achieving this. Their goal is to bring a child to term, not just ovulation; she is told they have her backing and will talk to the other board members.

She is thrilled but soon reveals that they are nowhere near ovulation but just needs them to believe that she has. She is presented with a lab test from Abraham Kenyatta (Nonso Anozie), who has found what she has been waiting for in order to start trials. She has no clue who Abe is.

Abe is working on his tablet when Dariela (Alyssa Diaz) she asks if he has figured it out yet; he admits what Jackson has sent him is like nothing he has ever seen before. Dariela feels they could have really used their help but Abe feels sorry for anyone who tries to get between Jamie, Clem and Mitch; but Dariela says after all they have been through together, riding the bench isn’t easy. Abe reminds her that they are not riding the bench, they are raising their son. A sound distracts them, Abe thinks its the tree out front but when he opens the door a hybrid charges at him.

As Logan continues to attempt to contact Jamie, The lab technician informs him they have identified the accelerant as a hyper carbon that is extremely powerful and it was the same hyper carbon that was used in Portland; the problem is no one is investigating the bombing in Portland but as they scan the photos from the bombing, Logan recognizes Jackson in the crowd. He orders priority transport to get to Oregon.

Jackson and Tessa arrive at Abigail’s vehicle and discover the hard-drive with the same symbol on it as Abigail welcomes Jackson quietly as she spots him. Back at Abe and Dariela’s place, they put their son in a safe place and without any signal they are on their own against the hybrid.

They watch as the sample Jackson sent him turned into a fetus and Abe believes the egg is calling for help and its parents have come for it. Abe says the mutation with the lions was like this but nowhere near as powerful. Abe wants to study it as Dariela is furious he wants to play the “save the world” card again. As the storm closes in, Abe feels there has to be another way to get out of there.

Clementine tells Mitch the IADG think Mitch can help them in stopping the hybrids and she asks him if he remembers who put him in the tank and why; he shakes his head. He says seeing her face made him remember 7916 and tells her it was the parking ticket he got the day she was born for $79.16. He regrets missing years in her life and swears to never miss another second. She tells him it is good he is remembering but insists that they need answers about a program called “Blue Diaspora” and its the reason they came for him.

Jackson and Tessa sit as she reminds him that she sleeps fine at night, especially knowing he is beside her after they have saved hundreds of lives. They are interrupted by a knock at the door and it is Logan; he greets Jackson by the name of “Dylan”.

The IADG agent comes to see Mitch and learns his core temperature is up and his heart rate has stabilized but he is more interested in his memory. Mitch says he remembers everything but is waiting until he is upgraded to a better room. He is asked about Blue Diaspora, but after he says he doesn’t remember he is told that what is inside his head could save a lot of people.

Mitch is denied learning any more and isn’t keen on helping the IADG as the last he checked they were trying to murder all the animals on the planet. Mitch says he has tried but there is nothing to tell. Clementine tells Mitch to not take anything this guy is going to give him, that they are not the IADG but in fact Shepherds; she says they need to get out of there.

On the plane, Clementine finds a secret button and walks down a hidden staircase into a room of cages, when a man in the cage asks who she is; Jamie tells her she shouldn’t be down there. Jamie reveals the man in the cage doesn’t deserve the title of man after what he did. She says his name is Greg, and he is a Shepherd and for the last 3 months he has been giving her information on the others who are destroying the planet and one of the people who took Mitch from them.

Jamie stuns him, saying he doesn’t know what happened to Mitch but he is going to help them find him. She reveals the photo in Siberia and says Mitch is inside a Shepherd’s compound, but when Clem asks her how she knew, she ignores her and shows a new photo and demands to know what has changed. He explains that the hangar door is open meaning someone is already there. Jamie tells Clem they need to be ready for the Shepherds and not the IADG; she repeatedly stuns the prisoner.

Leann makes a video about their breakthrough that could put an end to the sterility epidemic. Jackson places the fetus into a steel box as Dariela continues to point a gun at the window. Once he puts the lid on it, the hybrid takes off from the house, no longer hearing the signal from it.

Mitch questions why Clementine would work with the Shepherds. She says it was the only way of getting close to him and getting him back, she explains that she came along because they knew he needed a familiar face he would trust. She reveals they will do whatever it takes to get the information about Blue Diaspora out of him. A security alarm sounds, revealing there is an unknown aircraft in the area. They know people are there for Mitch and he quickly leaves with Clementine.

Jackson and Logan talk, and he orders Logan to keep his mouth shut about who he really as Logan encourages him to come clean with her. Logan says he wants what they want, the person who bombed his precinct and their camp. Jackson gives them a description and hands him the hard drive with the symbol and Logan asks if he has ever seen the symbol before; Jackson says there is no “we” and he has people in his camp he needs to take care of. Logan tells Tessa she doesn’t know Dylan the way he does.

Jamie ambushes the men who board the plane and shoots them with darts. Clementine and Mitch are stopped by the leader of the Shepherds; when she says Mitch doesn’t know anything he grabs her saying Mitch just needs more incentive.

Abraham, Dariela and their son Isaac (Jesse Muhoozi) return to the main floor of their house, Abe looks out the door and finds two hybrids outside but when they turn around there are two more inside the house. Dariela wants to give the hybrid the fetus because it isn’t attacking them. Abe accidentally drops something and as he shoots the hybrid attacks him; Dariela shoots at it chasing it off and he assures his on that he is okay.

Jackson gets a call at the camp and she reveals she is the one he is looking for saying he has something of hers and tells him to consider the disk a gift. When he asks who she is, she thought he was smarter than he appeared and reveals he destroyed her world once and now it was time to return the favor.

As Clementine gasps, she begs Mitch to tell him what Blue Diaspora is. He tells him not to harm his daughter and he will help him. Clementine beats the guy who is holding her and Mitch shocks him with electrical cables. She helps him up and as they attempt to escape they are held up by guns from Clementine and Jamie; both girls claim to be his daughter and bicker, confusing him as he waves his gun between them and ordering them to be quiet.

The one that arrived with Jamie puts her gun down first and goes to reach into her pocket to prove she is his daughter; Mitch shoots her. He finds his parking ticket in her pocket and the one pretending to be Clementine says she didn’t know he had it in him and demands that he tell her everything he knows about Blue Diaspora and Jamie shoots her as she rushes to his side. She asks if he is okay and tells him he has a nice beard.

Jackson meets with Logan revealing the bomber called him taunting him suggesting this was personal. Logan says it is personal and her name is Abigail as they both share multiple markers implying that Abigail is his sister. Jackson looks at him in utter shock.

Jamie says Clementine is going to be fine and Mitch jokes if she is looking for a second opinion there is always his. He feels horrible that he shot his own daughter. He says he can see its her now but she forgives him. Jamie gives him his glasses and Clem wants to give them some space, reassuring him she isn’t going anywhere.

Mitch asks how Jamie ended up with the plane; She says they saved the world in it and feels it should stay in the family. Mitch says the last thing he remembers was the teeth and claws ripping into him. Jamie says whoever put him in that tank didn’t want any one to find him, keeping him away from her and the world for 10 years. She is going to find out who did it and why and she is going to make them pay.

Dariela and Abe talk about the dangerous place the world is for their son. Abe says they should have went with Clementine; a knock at the door brings the IADG in. Abe says they had a hybrid incident but that’s not why they are there. They show them the video from Leann, revealing they are taking their son for their pilot program; Dariela runs to the living room and finds Isaac is already gone, locked in a cage full of children riding off in the back of a truck. Abe holds Dariela as they watch the truck drive off.

Clementine puts on a stethoscope, pleading as she listens to her belly, as her baby’s heartbeat is loud and strong.
