Zoo begins tonight with the hybrids dragging Abigail (Athena Karkanis) to a gate, as they load the wounded woman onto the truck she tells them to make sure the razor backs get inside. Inside, the gentlemen have Clementine (Gracie Dzienny), who just had an ultrasound showing she is expecting a boy. Outside the room, a man says they will begin the bidding at $80 million, confirming she is carrying a viable male fetus; Clem has no clue what is happening outside. Mitch (Billy Burke) comes into a building, knocks out a guard with a needle.
Tessa (Hilary Jardine) and Jackson (James Wolk) are surrounded by lions. Tessa wonders if Jackson did this with his mind, he thinks its possible but is more concerned about their situation than how he did it. One lion attacks a gunmen, ripping him apart. Mitch attacks another guard and manages to get into Tessa’s room; she is confused as to how and why he is there. Jackson says they cannot leave without the hybrid and make a plan, running to avoid bullets.
The host, tells everyone to remain calm as Clementine says she is under the impression this isn’t a real hospital. Mitch shoots out the windows and as the bidders scream, he grabs Clem and tells her they have to go.
Jackson drives the truck over and they attempt to latch the trailer to the back; the lions continue to kill the second gunmen and they manage to escape with the trailer hitched on. Mitch says its cool that Clementine is pregnant and she hates that he found out this way; they are surrounded by armed men but are ordered to not shot. Mitch drops his gun but Clem says to let them go or she will kill humanity’s last hope.
The man tells everyone to put their guns down as Clem still has her weapon pointed at her belly. Mitch takes her hand but they are warned that the word is out and no matter where they go, he won’t be able to protect her. Mitch wants to know why she is the most important person in the world.
Logan (Josh Salatin) tells Jamie (Kristen Connolly) that she has been arrested and there is no take backs. She tells him that the lense Leanne Ducovney (Sophina Brown) was wearing when she died will tell them who killed her; he slides the tablet over with the lense and she tells him it would be easier to do without her handcuffs, he frees her.
Abigail tells the men they need to assemble a team, but she is told everything is on hold until she is well. She insists they need to listen to her and she needs to get Jackson Oz; they tell her this isn’t a personal vendetta and he isn’t part of it, but she says he is part of her plan.
Ten years earlier on Pagaea Island, Abigail watches as they are about to release the TX gas on the world. She says people shouldn’t believe everything they hear on the news and her partner comes in showing her a file on the Blue Diaspora, he tells her she cannot work on this out in the open and the council forbid her to carry on her father’s work. He says her father isn’t going to approve but she says he isn’t there; he tells her she is wrong as he arrived an hour ago. She has no idea why her “drunken Safari” brother Jackson is there with their father.
Jackson and Tessa bring the new hybrid onto the plane and Dariela (Alyssa Diaz) and Abraham (Nonso Anozie) want to know how this creature fits into his sister’s plan; they think that Mr. Duncan is the key to all of this. The creature breaks free of its chains and Tessa asks if they have tranquilizers to put down a dinosaur and Abe leaves to create one.
In New York, Mitch asks Clem why she didn’t tell him; she said he has a lot going on and everyone has their issues. Mitch thinks of scientific scenarios but Clementine tells him to stop acting like a scientist and start acting like a grandfather. He tells her to never use that word again but he wants to know why this is happening as there is a long road ahead of them.
Jackson asks how Abe is holding up with everything happening with Isaac. He tells Jackson what he was working on before they took Isaac away; the animal stem cells and the unborn babies unusual protein could solve the sterility problem; Abe says that is the idea at least. He just needs to sedate the hybrid and harvest spinal fluid.
Jamie opens the tablet and begins to load everything, the lense melts into the tablet as a security measure and they are in. Jackson tells Tessa he controls the animals after his father did genetic experiments on him as a kid and the gas that sterilized people, activated something in him and allows him to communicate and control the animals.
He feels between his father and his sister there truly is something tainted in the Oz blood line. He thinks they are cursed and tells Tessa when they land, she needs to get as far away as possible from him. Dariela hopes their plan works, Abe says they need to stab him right in the heart and Jackson says he will go as the creature wants him. Jackson orders Dariela not to shoot unless he says so; they open the door, Jackson enters the trailer as Abe, Tessa and Dariela watch in fear. Jackson stabs him in the heart and asks for help when the hybrid passes out on top of him.
Jamie and Logan watch through Leanne’s lense, Logan says if the killer is her, he is going to be very disappointed. Abigail walks in with the police officer uniform on. She tells Leanne it is over but Leanna says her father, Robert would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what she became. She says her father made her into what she is; she tells her they have the Melvatox-B and they don’t need Leanne any more; She fires 2 bullets and Leanne dies. Jamie and Logan need to find Abigail and her partner; Logan says he will talk to his captain and reveal they have a new suspect – Abigail Westbrook.
Abigail is placed in one of those tanks Mitch was kept in. They are certain she will survive as her work isn’t finished yet. In the flashback, Abigail is happy to see her father but wants to know why he brought Jackson and his team there. She mocks Jackson but her father says he has grown up in the last year and says he trust him; Abigail asks if he is going to fill Jackson in on the plan but her father says he brought Jackson home because he is very sick and Mitch has the cure in the animals.
She wonders if Mitch could crack Blue Diaspora and shows her curious father that she used human DNA because hybrids were uncontrollable. He is furious that she was told not to do this and when he learns she used her own DNA, he is worried. She says this was his project and she fixed it for him. She again tells him the TX gas is only a temporary solve and Blue Diaspora is the real solution. She introduces him to her hybrid and says it really is impressive but he leaves saying he doesn’t need her help as Mitch can do it all.
Jamie knows right away who Mr. Duncan is, she tells Logan he is a ghost and public enemy number 1; he is a bomb maker and a scientist. She looks through Leanne’s computer and finds he was the one who supervised the transfer of assets from when Reiden bought Melvatox. He took possession of 50,000 units of Melvatox-B; Logan finds where he would have had them and looks back on the cameras for the date of delivery. They unscramble his face to see who he really is.
Jackson tells Abe that Abigail was the one who killed Leanne and they both wonder how Abigail is connected to everything. Dariela and Tessa call the men up when they see on the news that the warehouses are being raided and as they break into room by room, there is nothing there and Jackson wonders where all the children are. Dariela cries that its got to be a mistake and now the question is where have the children gone.
Mitch drives with Clementine and promises they will figure this out. He wants to do every test in the book but she doesn’t want to do that as she spent 90% of her childhood under a microscope and it was awful making her feel like she wasn’t even a person. She wants her child to have a normal life but Mitch says her baby will be the opposite of normal. He understands she wants to protect her baby but he needs to protect her; as her and the baby is all he has. He begs her to let him do the one job he needs to do as a parent.
Dariela and Abe say 100s of kids do not just disappear; they all fear the worst when they recall Isaac saying Reiden Global was giving all the kids candy and what if that candy is the melvatox-B. Jackson and Tessa think they are not trying to poison the children, but it gave them a way to find them because of the radio activity in the medication.
Abigail continues to have flashbacks while she is in the isolation tank. She wanders the facility and overhears Robert talking to Mitch about Jackson surviving the procedure; Mitch asks if they are talking as scientists or as parents? Mitch promises to do whatever he can. When Mitch leaves, Abigail confronts her father on Jackson dying. She asks if he can’t cure Jackson and can’t cure the animals then they will use Blue Diaspora; he tells her they don’t have much time, she is to gather her research and he needs to say goodbye. She smiles when he hugs her and tells her she loves him.
Tessa says she would stay but Jackson says his closest family wants him dead and its not safe for her. She tells him family is just blood but Abe and Dariela are his real family. He apologizes for causing her any pain and thanks her for giving him his life back. She tells him to go save the world.
Mitch angrily confronts Dariela about having Clementine kidnapped; Clem reminds him that a parent has one job in this world and Dariela was just doing hers. Mitch leaves, and Dariela apologizes to her saying she just wants her son back. Clem tells her had it been a few months earlier she would have punched her out but now that she is pregnant, she would have done the same thing.
Mitch approaches the trailer, walks round and hears the new hybrid making noise and when he gets close to the window, the creature breaths on him, Mitch has memories come back in waves and passes out beside the trailer. Jamie finds him and when he wakes up she asks him what he was doing in there. Once he learns Clementine is safe, he wants to go be with Clem and Abe as he runs tests.
Jamie worries its the bio drive that made him faint. She hands him a tablet and tells him there are years of science for him to catch up on. She tells him about Mr. Duncan, saying he is dangerous and Abigail’s partner, she says if she finds him, she is taking him down; she tells him to do his research and when the image cleans up to let her know. She tells him to rest up calling him “grandpa” and he says that is sooooo uncool.
Abe says as long as Clem’s baby develops properly, they could have enough to work with the hyrbid’s stem cells to work on a cure. He then tells Clem he found something unexpected when comparing the samples from the new hybrids and shows them the DNA from the 3 newest hybrids and find they are all related. Jackson is confused but wonders if Abigail used common DNA as a starting point to create the new hybrids. Abe says they need the spinal fluid from each new hybrid and believes there are 6 new ones in total.
Jamie and Logan return to the lab sharing they believe they found the kids and the melvatox pills; Dariela tells Abe they can go get their son back. Abigail begins to move in her tank, she is upset that men have arrived with orders to keep her there. Her father has to stay with Jackson in order for the plan to succeed to cure the animals.
She learns that Jackson is no longer dying, she turns on the cameras for the live stream and hears Jackson telling their father jokes; when Robert doesn’t respond he shouts for Mitch. She is held back because this is what he wanted; she says he is doing this for Jackson and he chose Jackson over her. Just as she is crying out, the hybrid she created calls out Jackson’s name.
Mitch opens the screen that is unscrambling Mr. Duncan’s face as Abigail’s team is working for her extraction as she wakes up. Abigail walks with her hybrid as she is trying to escape the smoking facility. She says Blue Diaspora is the only way to move forward. She tells him there is a chopper in Bay 12 and tells him to get it ready as she goes back for something else.
Abigail returns to the facility, where the dogs were attacking Mitch, she tells him she is getting him out of there because they have a lot of work to do. Abigail is the one who put Mitch in the water isolation tank 10 years earlier. She suddenly opens her eyes in the tank and the extraction begins. She is helped out of the tank and asks if everything is in place. She learns her brother has Abendegos and says its a good thing Mr. Duncan is with her brother.
Mitch watches in horror at the clean photo from the video revealing he is the one driving the van and the assumed Mr. Duncan.
