Simon Cowell says that without the visual component of Lady Gaga’s performance she is the “most boring singer in the world.” Obviously said more for its shock value than as true insight Cowell’s comment is merely designed to bring more attention to him and his A Factor show.
While he was dumping on Gaga he figured he’d throw the ‘boring’ label on Beyonce and Katy Perry as well.
Cowell claims that Lady Gaga, Beyonce Knowles and Katy Perry – who recently matched Michael Jackson’s record of having five number one hit singles from the same album on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart – need to be on TV to shine because without any visual component to back up their singing they are dull.
Cowell told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “If you only ever heard Lady Gaga, she’s the most boring singer in the world. You’ve got to see her – you need TV.” “Same with Beyonce. Or Katy Perry. We’re all about image. You have to have that X Factor.”
Cowell won’t be making any new friends over at ‘American Idol’ as he poked fun at host Ryan Seacrest, describing him as the “complete opposite” to “intelligent” US ‘X Factor’ presenter Steve Jones.
He added about Jones: “He’s tall, dark, British – he’s basically completely the opposite of Ryan Seacrest. You’ve got to add in intelligent as well.”
As far as I have seen by listening to to Simon Cowell AND seeing him on TV he is a lot more boring than Lady Gaga.
