Truthfully, I’ve never had a doubt that Gwen Stefani has been a badass rocker/entrepreneur through and through. The American singer/song writer and fashion designer started off her career with the rock band ‘No Doubt’, emerging over the last few years as a successful artist and prominent figure in the music, entertainment, and fashion industry.
And…she’s also been married to the ever so hunky Gavin Rossdale, front man of the band Bush.
Why I love Gwen – aside from her unique fashion sense (ok, no one can top Lady Gaga’s ‘Egg/Womb’ entrance at this years Grammy’s, but you can’t tell me that Gwen didn’t have some influence over the years), Gwen seems like a truly honest person, somehow managing to evade any major form of drama or tabloid frenzy.
With that being said, what’s changed? The 41 year old blonde beauty recently talked about her honest struggle to maintain life as a mother and wife, “I’ve been with Gavin for 14 years, and, let’s face it, that is a huge accomplishment”. The two rockers are parents to 4-year-old Kingston and 2-year-old Zuma.
Gwen also admits about her post baby struggle, “I work out 5 days a week, I can’t imagine not doing it”. With regards to her relationship with Rossdale, the singer admitted, “I wear makeup every single day. I like to wear makeup for Gavin, and I don’t feel energized till I’ve put it on. Then I’m ready to go”.
Her honesty doesn’t go un-appreciated – keeping a marriage together is sadly next to impossible in Hollywood and I commend her for being truthful…but (you know there’s always going to be a ‘but’ with me), it still saddens me that after never being open to the media about her relationship – those of us that maintain hope for relationship longevity are somewhat left feeling a wee bit disillusioned, they’re just not allowed to have problems!!
