Known for his almost always naked work as Eric ‘True Blood’, Alexander Skarsgård recently proved that he is also talented and influential. The illegally hot actor recently picked up the Breakthrough Performance Award for ‘Melancholia’ at the Hamptons International Film Festival. In the film, Skarsgard stars as Michael, who has just married his love Justine (Kirsten Dunst) only to learn that her battle with depression has already consumed her. Surely fans see how Skarsgårdruins the film. How could anyone marrying the dashing Swede be sullen? Yet critics seem to think otherwise and have praised the actor.
If that’s not enough, he also nabbed the Number 17 spot on AskMen’s Top 49 Most Influential People List 2011 List! Over 200,000 AskMen readers cast their votes in the poll. It’s unclear what Skarsgard is influencing aside from women’s dreams but who really cares?
