Kim Kardashian may be “so ready” for this current chapter of her life that contains her failed, 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries to be over, but it looks like the former couple’s divorce proceedings continue to drag on and on.
According to TMZ, the latest document to be filed by Kim’s disgruntled groom is a request for the reality star to disclose exactly how much all of those gifts from their wedding gifts were worth.
As we previously reported, Kim (finally) ended up donating the cash equivalent of the wedding presents to charity, seemingly as a way to disprove all of the claims in the press that her marriage to the basketball player was nothing more than a money-making sham. Kris’ lawyers, however, are challenging Kim’s right to those gifts and wrote in the documents that were filed:
“A spouse may not make a gift of community personal property, or dispose of community personal property for less than fair and reasonable value, without the written consent of the other spouse.“
So, if Kris succeeds, Kim may have to pay Kris back for the value of his half of the wedding gifts, in addition to whatever other payout he manages to win. And while she certainly has the money to do it, it’s still pretty surprising just how acrimonious their divorce has become.
