There are a lot of fall TV shows that we’re super excited about, but we really can’t wait for the return of The Vampire Diaries season 5, which will feature a whole bunch of (potentially confusing) doppelganger action. It definitely seems like it’s going to be the season of Shadow Selves, and one word perfectly sums everything up: deception.
With Silas on the rampage and Stefan (Paul Wesley) locked away in a giant safe, currently resting with the fishes, Silas will be playing the I’m-actually-Stefan-because-I-look-like-him card to the max — and it will be interesting to see how Katherine interacts with this version of Stefan. It looks like they’re definitely going to get comfortable around each other; just check out that little bath conversation in the extended promo below, which gets slightly steamy.
While we’ve seen many of these promo scenes before, this new clip offers an extended look at what we can expect to see on the upcoming season. Last season we were left with an interesting ending to Elena and Damon’s romance, so we’ll undoubtedly be exploring that relationship in more depth and hotness as the season unravels and they try their hand at being a long distance couple. Because it’s off to college!
