So much for Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox falling out huh? According to reports, Jennifer Aniston hosted a massive party filled with A-list celebrities at her home in Bel Air. And combating the rumors about a possible split, Jennifer made sure to throw the party with still-fiance Justin Theroux. And who was in attendance? Oh, just some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities, including Courteney, Vanity Fair’s public enemy #1 Gwyneth Paltrow, Chelsea Handler, Robert Downey Jr, Jason Bateman, and Tobey Maguire.
Jennifer has a lot of powerful friends, made abundantly clear by the guest list at this party. But you know what’s interesting? It was recently reported that Vanity Fair was stepping back from their Gwyneth tell-all piece, and you have to wonder why – and now, looking at her friend circle, it’s starting to become clearer. Vanity Fair cannot afford to make enemies out of all these people, especially people like Robert Downey Jr. and Tobey Maguire. Sure, they wrote a piece on Tom Cruise and Scientology last year. But that was at a time where Tom Cruise’s public image was at an all-time low and Scientology was looked at as a quack religion.
While the general public might look down at Gwyneth and her goopyness in disdain sometimes, we have to remember that to most of Hollywood, she’s THE Gwyneth Paltrow. She’s a major, major celebrity, with strong music industry connections [via her friendship with Beyonce and marriage to Chris Martin], and she’s got A-list friends all over the wazoo.
