Prince William and Kate Middleton Bugged During U.S. Visit - Report

In the last few weeks one of the top news stories of every broadcast is about the NSA scandal that seems to be growing worse each day. Richard Snowden is now facing espionage charges connected to all of his detailed whistle blowing on how the United States handles its’ security measures. Opening Pandora’s Box so to speak has brought lots of other details to light, some of them just plain shocking.

Shortly after their marriage in April of 2011, Prince William and Kate Middleton traveled to the U.S. For a three-day trip. According to the July 1st print edition of GLOBE magazine, the royal couple was bugged from the moment they landed in California. Why on earth would we bug a couple from a country that is known to be one of our allies?

Well according to this report, President Obama was aiming for a second White House run and was extremely worried about what the royals’ would have to say about him. They are privy to inside info and while in California they were mingling with the same millionaires that Obama needed to garner support from. Supposedly he wanted to hear every word that William and Kate uttered so that he could do exact damage control if necessary.

Learning of this situation is said to have absolutely infuriated the royal family. They can’t believe that a clear cut ally that ensured protection would actually be the one to violate Kate and William’s privacy! Supposedly President Obama is really worried that every turn that this scandal takes is pushing his approval ratings down to record lows and has earned him the increasing distrust of the American public.

Do you think we really bugged the royal couple? Would anything surprise you about the U.S.’s security tactics at this point? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
