You can always tell who matters most in a person’s life by who they reach out to in a time of need. When Kris and Bruce Jenner finally decided to confirm their split yesterday after reportedly being apart for well over a year, the whole situation became very real to the family. Khloe Kardashian not only reached out to estranged hubby, Lamar Odom, but was also spotted driving with him later in the day.
According to TMZ the two were united to support Kris but I tend to think that’s not necessarily correct. Kris Jenner doesn’t need support – she doesn’t care about Bruce and her marriage has been a sham for years. Also, there is no way that Lamar is supporting the evil mother-in-law that leaked his drug problem to every media outlet that would listen. Whatever problem existed with Lamar’s behavior was exacerbated once everybody knew he was a junkie, courtesy of Kris. This car ride seems to indicate that there is something left between Khloe and Lamar. I mean she reached out and he appeared, right?
My guess is that if he would clean up his act in as public a way as their relationship unraveled, then Khloe would take him back in a heartbeat. She clearly doesn’t want to be like every other Kardashian woman, either clinging to the wrong guy or living a public sham of a relationship for the sake of good press and a rolling camera. Khloe really wants the happy marriage with babies running around and that’s what she believed that she had with Lamar.
Could this possibly have been some sort of breakthrough moment for Khloe and Lamar? Does seeing her mother lose probably one of the nicest guys in the world make her worry that she’ll ultimately end up in the same boat – unable to keep any man happy? Does Lamar still care?
