The Kardashian and Jenner women like to think of themselves as fashionistas. They have modeled for fashion magazines (and don’t forget Kim Kardashian’s Playboy spread) represented several products in ad campaigns and designed clothes. One thing these women cannot do is snag high fashion modeling jobs.
The sisters K (Kourtney, Kim and Khloe) and the Jenner girls (Kendall and Kylie) are a joke in the fashion world. It was reported a stylist had to beg designers for clothes for a shoot with Kim. Vogue Magazine editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has publicly shown her disdain for Kim. She said Kim will never be a cover girl for her magazine. Anna even banned Kim from the Met Ball. On a recent episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians Kendall Jenner turned down modeling jobs because they were not high fashion. She said she wanted to change her image, but so far no-one is biting.
Now, hell might have frozen over. While pregnant with her daughter, North, Kim was asked to participate in a high fashion photo shoot shot by Karl Lagerfeld. The pictures will be published in CR Fashion Book this month. We see Kim like we’ve never seen her before. She and her gigantic belly are dressed in ridiculous outfits that and make up that makes her look extremely unglamorous. In one photo Kim is wearing smeared lipstick that looks like it was smashed on and around her mouth.
The most disturbing picture of the shoot is a close up of Kim wearing a gold grill. Her mouth is open slightly and her droopy eyes make her look stoned. What is Kim trying to say by wearing this ugly accessory? Is she flaunting the fact she can afford solid gold teeth coverings or that she is hip? A grill in one’s mouth is not high fashion. I’ve never seen Gisel Bundchen wear one. Perhaps Uncle Karl was mocking Kim but suggesting she wear the grill. Kim’s baby daddy, Kanye West, is a big deal in the fashion world and Kim is desperate to catch up to him in relevance. The thing is no accessory, clothes or makeup can make up for the fact that Kim is a fame whore and porn star.
