Melissa Joan Hart, best known as Sabrina The Teenage Witch, has revealed her secret partying and drug abuse in an explosive tell-all book. According to Life & Style, Melissa doesn’t hold back on the details, and explains how at such a young age, she was exposed to drugs and sex.
Melissa explains, “I experimented with weed, Ecstasy, mushrooms and mescaline for about a year and a half.” She explains that at certain points, she was so high that she ended up going to photo shoots while still drugged up.
She adds that eventually, she could see that she wasn’t enjoying herself, explaining, “I was kind of running with a bad crowd. I just didn’t enjoy taking drugs. I don’t like the loss of control.”
Man, Young Hollywood in those days was crazy, wasn’t it? It’s not like now, where the paparazzi and media are so ever-present that the stars would have to be crazy to be so blatant about their drug abuse. But in those days, not only were these young kids encouraged to dabble in drugs, but they were completely out of control without any regards for their public image.
Melissa also reveals some dirt on some famous men in Hollywood, explaining that she made out with ‘man whore‘ Jerry O’Connell. She also adds that she was with Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter, who was also known for his drug and alcohol abuse. And finally, she says that she didn’t get along with Ashton Kutcher, because he was always making ‘smart ass comments‘.
Melissa’s now recovered and doing well, and she was recently seen on her show Melissa & Joey. Let’s hope that she serves as an inspiration and role model to young stars who are going through the same thing right now, except with the added attention from the media.
