Susan Lucci’s Return to All My Children Not Welcomed By Everyone!

Susan Lucci's Return to All My Children Not Welcomed By Everyone!

When All My Children found new life thanks to Prospect Park’s Online Network the diehard fans were absolutely thrilled. A lot of the shows legendary actors decided to return to the newly formatted show last April, taking a huge gamble that people would watch. I’m surprised that the numbers haven’t been better since an online show gives viewers tons of flexibility. AMC used to air at 1pm 5 days a week before cancellation in late Sept. 2011. Watching online means that fans can tap into the 30 minute show at their leisure rather than praying that the DVR records it while they work.

Instead the numbers were a bit less than expected and it was clear that the powers-that-be were trying to woo back Susan Lucci because her character, Erica Kane was the centerpiece to the show for 41 years. La Lucci has been busy with various projects including Lifetime’s Devious Maids but it looks like a deal has almost been reached. According to the Aug. 12th print edition of GLOBE magazine her fellow co stars aren’t exactly thrilled.

They worked hard to throw down good enough scenes to get the show back onto real television and it’ll begin airing on Oprah’s OWN Network later this year. They fear that one Susan pops up on screen she will get all of the praise and attention when it’s the rest of the casts efforts that have brought them back. Plus Susan will likely come back on a limited basis where this show is the main gig for everyone else, leaving them totally invested and devoted to its success. Many would prefer to fail all together than to succeed only with Susan’s help!

Can you blame the cast for not necessarily welcoming Susan back with open arms? Would you like to see Erica Kane return? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
