True Blood Will END For Good After Season 7 2014: Why The Hit Show’s Really Calling It Quits

True Blood, perhaps one of the most successful vampire series on television, has decided to call it quits once it completes its seventh season in 2014. HBO announced the news on Tuesday and, while some fans are crying their bloody eyes out, some will be piqued with an overwhelming amount of curiosity: How will this epic show ever find a powerful enough story to conclude with? It won’t take much to live up to last season (arguably one of the worst, in my opinion), but it’s going to need to be SO EXTREMELY EPIC AND AMAZING to satisfy hardcore Truebies.

HBO exec Michael Lombardo said in an announcement: Alan Ball took the books by Charlaine Harris, assembled a brilliant cast led by the magnificent Anna Paquin in the role of Sookie Stackhouse, and crafted a show that has taken its many devoted fans on an unforgettable journey.”

True, the journey has been unforgettable, and we can’t wait to see what happens next season. The last season ended with several crazed vampires descending on the town of Bon Temps, so perhaps there’ll be a vampire war brewing (though we hope more interesting things are introduced as well). Am I the only one who loved the season of the Maenad? Also, Eric caught fire. That happened. He may or may not be dead dead dead.

Lombardo adds: “Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.”

What do you hope the show explores in the final season? I don’t think the decision to cancel the show was because of poor ratings; rather, the execs and cast are probably just done with it. Perhaps it’s time to finish strong. Do you agree with the show’s decision to end?
