Jane and Michael’s relationship is on the rocks. Prior to last week’s big reveal, Jane has always felt that she could rely on Michael. But after he hid Petra’s affair and proceeded to lie to Jane just to cover it up – she’s now reconsidering whether or not she might want to marry him,

And when Michael isn’t being her biggest concern, then it’s her coursework. Jane has to complete a certain amount of hours in student teaching. However she dreams of teaching middle school and unfortunately she’s been assigned to high school. Jane hated high school when she had to attend and she hates idea of teaching there.

But she has to do it because it’s the only way she’ll be able to graduate.

She signed on to be a teacher and that meant accepting wherever she was placed. And it’s not the high school she hated in particular. It was honestly the other girls that attended high school that made her whole experience not worth repeating.

Jane had a rough time with the mean girls and although it inspired to be a teacher and help instill self-confidence in young women – mean girls still currently exist in high school. And Jane even happens to know two of them by name. Her father, Rogelio, has two former step-daughters that he treats as part of the family and naturally these girls like their mother are threatened by the Villanuevas women.

Jane and her mom have a connection with Rogelio. They’re his first love and his only biological child. And so they present a threat. On both Rogelio’s feelings and his bank account.

When the twins had to change schools because Rogelio moved the production of his show to Miami – he had also enlisted them at the same school where Jane was going to be doing her student teaching. Hence, when given the opportunity, the girls made Jane’s life a living hell as much as possible. Their stunts also got Jane fired from the job.

And like it was mentioned earlier, Jane can’t graduate without the student teaching credentials. So Jane and her mother took off the kid gloves. Xiomara had also tried being nice and it got her nowhere with Rogelio’s ex/manager. No, you see that’s not entirely true. Her niceness did get her a band to play with for her big performance at the Mirabella Hotel. But sadly the band was comprised of women Rogelio had slept with.

Then in their quest for payback, Jane had gotten Rafael’s help to get her hands on the twins’ phones. Rafael needed the distraction just as much as she did. His wife Petra accused him of domestic violence and the only person he could depend on was Jane. So he finally admitted his feelings to her. Yet she, at the time, was unable to tell him if there’s a chance for them.

And as for the punishment for the twins, Jane did eventually realize she was dealing with two insecure juvenile girls. What they did to Jane wasn’t meant to her. It was just to draw some attention for themselves from two/ nearly three absentee parents.

Jane had the twins apologize and explain their actions (which included creating a website in honor of the pregnant virgin) to the principle who also happened to be a nun. The nun accepted their apology but she had her own reasons as to why she kept Jane on at the school. Apparently, her website has a drawn in a lot of hits and the headmistress thinks Jane’s situation might bring people back to the church.

Then for Xiomara’s revenge, she was a lot more subtle. Her band had mysteriously disappeared on her big night and rather than get upset – XO just went onstage and sang a capella. Not only was she great but afterwards she decided to step away from the drama.

Xiomara realized her relationship with Rogelio was interfering with his relationship with Jane. So she put Jane first and ended what could have been with Rogelio.

Anyways, he needed to be there for Jane. She had broken up with Michael after she realized her feelings for Rafael were too strong. And right now as she’s on the brink of starting something and potentially rushing it so she needs her father to give her some advice on men.

THE END!
