Big Brother 17 Spoilers & Cast News: Audrey Middleton Makes Big Bro History As First Transgender Houseguest

Today, Big Brother 17 revealed many of their new cast members, including Audrey Middleton, the first ever transgender houseguest. Now, as we all know, the success of a Big Brother season really is dependent upon the diversity of their cast members. If they are not diverse and unique, there is really no drama on the show, and then no one would watch.

TMZ has learned that Audrey Middleton, one of the new cast members of the 17th season of Big Brother, was not born Audrey; rather, she was born Adam. Audrey Middleton will be the first transgender individual to appear on the United States version of Big Brother. According to TMZ, Audrey wants to use the show as a platform to help other transgender individuals find themselves, similar to what Caitlyn Jenner is doing with her rather large platform.

Audrey Middleton is a 25-year-old digital consultant from Georgia. Based on her self-comparisons to Dexter Morgan, in regards to her gameplay, she is certainly going to be one to watch this season. Unfortunately, we do not think that Audrey Middleton will last long on this season of Big Brother. Based on the reveal, many sources have been stating that Audrey is extremely self-confident, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but Audrey takes it to the next level. Middleton seems to be extremely confident to the point where it will most likely annoy the other contestants, so it is unlikely that Audrey will win. Big personalities aren’t always bad on BB, but they don’t necessarily ensure all-out victor either.

Despite winning or not, Audrey Middleton will get to use this platform to advocate for transgender rights. Like TMZ said, this is definitely a risky move for the producers of Big Brother, as the show has been known to feature a long list of contestants with homophobic and/or racist tendencies. The show has a live stream 24/7 and drama definitely unfolds, but Audrey is ready to take on whatever challenges may come her way.

What do you think of Audrey Middleton joining the Big Brother 17 cast? Do you think it is a sign that the world is becoming more accepting, or do you think there will be too much drama for Middleton to handle? Let us know in the comments below.
