RECAP:

Tonight’s episode of “Blood & Oil” kicks off with Wick waking up from a nightmare, he is still feeling guilty about trying to kill his dad Hap. In his dream, Jules calls him a coward for trying to shoot Hap. Meanwhile, Hap is sitting outside with Carla – he still can’t believe that she ever would have thought his own son would try to kill him. He says that it is time for him to bring Wick back in to the family business – and show him what it is like to be Hap Briggs’s son.

Billy is sitting on his porch – he is still upset about pulling out of the environmental deal. Cody reminds him that they got a house instead – and they are going in to the restaurant business with their friend Kess and his wife. Wick stops by the warehouse, Garry is having a meltdown. He wants to get rid of the rig ASAP before the Sherriff is able to peg the murder on them. Wick tells him he has to be cool – and hold on to the rig until the heat dies down.
Jules drives Wick to work where Hap is waiting for him at an oil digging site. Hap grills
Jules when she kisses Wick goodbye – he warned her to stay away from his son. Hap tells Wick to go check in with the pool pusher, and glares at Jules as she dries away. Meanwhile, Gary deliberately disobeyed Wick and he took the stolen oil tanker out of the warehouse. Sherriff Tip tries to pull the tanker over on the highway, but Garry is racing towards the Indian reservation – Tip has to pull over, he doesn’t have jurisdiction on the Indian land.

At the land strip where they are working, Hap reveals that he bought the land the day that Wick was born – and he always wanted it to be his first oil well. They are going to work on it together. Later they head home to celebrate, Hap warns Wick not to count his oil business earnings just yet. Carla is not happy that Hap invited his daughter Lacey over for a business meeting – she tries to get him to back out. Wick gets a phone call from Gary, he says he unloaded the oil rig, Wick tells him to keep the money, he doesn’t want it – he is working with his dad and he is going straight now.

Cody heads to Jules’ bar and she meets Finn Wyler – he has been begging Jules to hire him as a chef. She isn’t interested, and keeps turning him down. Finn asks Cody to put in a good word for him with Jules because he can tell they are attracted to each other. Finn leaves, Cody tells Jules that she is helping their friend Kess and his wife open a restaurant, and they need help finding some real estate in town that is affordable.

Billy is desperate to get involved in another one of Hap’s business deals. Hap tells Wick to take Billy to the new oil digging site that they are working on together. Wick isn’t happy, but he takes Billy there as a potential investor. It’s not long before they wind up fighting with each other and throwing punches. Wick shouts that he is tired of Billy snooping around and reminding his father of everything that he is not. Hap corners Wick later and he is not happy, he rants that Wick just proved that he is not trustworthy and isn’t anywhere close to ready to take over the family business.

Hap heads over to Jules’ house and says that it is time for them to talk. He wants to apologize for the way that he treated her four years ago. They were hooking up for two years – and then Hap ran off to New York and married Carla and never spoke to him again. Hap apologizes and says that he can’t make things right in a day – he tries to pull her in for a kiss but Jules asks him to leave.

Apparently Jules has a change of heart, later that night she calls Hap over. He lies and tells Carla that he has to go check on a rig – and then he runs over to Jules’ house to have sex with her. Hap tells her that even though he has a perfect wife waiting at home in his perfect house – he would rather be there with her.
At home, Cody is lecturing Billy about his fight with Wick. She thinks that investing in the oil parcel is a bad idea, because Wick isn’t trustworthy and is obviously jealous of his connection with Hap. But, at the end of the conversation she craves and confesses that the deal is “too good to pass up.”

Carla invites Lacey to go to New York with her to “catch a show.” Lacey rudely turns her down – Carla demands to know what her animosity is towards her. Lacey laughs that she needs to stop feeling so threatened, she has no desire to join the oil business and replace Carla. Then she scoffs about Carla mixing her wine and antidepressants.

Billy meets up with Hap, he tries to pay him $250,000 for a buy in at the oil site. Hap laughs that the minimum buy-in is $500,000. Billy won’t take no for an answer, he agrees to give him the $250,000 and his 5% stake in McCuthings land parcel to get in on Wick’s oil site. Hap tells him that they have a deal and says he will send his lawyer over to draw up the paperwork. Meanwhile, Cody is working on a deal of her own – she goes in to business with Kess and Flynn on a food truck, since they couldn’t find a building to open up the restaurant.

The next day, everyone heads Wick’s oil site where they are striking for oil. Hap asks Cody and Billy if they are “ready for the first day of their new lives.” Wick and Billy even bury the hatchet and shake hands after their fight. Meanwhile, Cody’s new food truck is set up with Finn, Kess, and Ada’s wife working hard in the kitchen. Cody takes Finn aside and tells him to “keep it professional” and stop flirting with Kess’s wife – she doesn’t want any drama in their new business.

They finally strike oil – everyone cheers when it starts flying out of the ground. Then, all of a sudden the oild stops spraying just as quickly as it started. Wick ad Billy are confused – but Hap looks like he knew this would happen all along. Hap explains that it was a “spike hit,” and there isn’t more oil under surface. Billy freaks out, Hap says that he had no idea the deal was going to be a bust. Billy wanted to learn the oil business – and this is one of the lessons, not every drill is a hit.

Later that night, Hap admits that he knew the oil drill was a bust. He used Wick to get McCuthins back form Billy – that was the real prize. Hap says that he wants to bring Wick in on the McCuthins deal, and that can be the one that they do together. But, he needs Wick to be focused on the oil business – and break up with Jules ASAP. Wick gets a panicked phone call from Gary, he is in jail – Sherriff Tip arrested him, he got pictures of him driving the rig. And, he thinks that Garyis responsible for Spinks’ murder. He threatens to rat Wick out if he doesn’t get him out of jail.
