Is Bobbi Kristina Brown dead or alive right now? It’s the tragic end for Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown who is passing away due to circumstances eerily similar to that of her famous songbird mom. Father Bobby Brown, Tyler Perry plus the Brown and Houston clans have been sitting at Kristina’s bedside at the hospice for days and now it appears that it’s only a matter of moments before Bobbi Kristina Brown breathes her last.
Whitney struggled with substance abuse for years prior to her drug-related drowning in an LA hotel bathtub and Bobbi Kristina Brown will have died also from damage suffered in a bathtub drowning that’s likely drug-related but may also have a tie to domestic violence. Bobbi’s self-proclaimed “husband” Nick Gordon is being investigated by authorities in the state of Georgia for allegations of abuse.
Civil charges have already been filed against Nick Gordon by Bobbi’s court-appointed conservator charging him with physical abuse and financial impropriety. The lawsuit says he caused Bobbi “substantial bodily harm” and that he has been draining her bank accounts since she was admitted to the hospital in late January.
And once police confirm Bobbi Kristina Brown is dead, rumors are that the criminal investigation will ramp up and the charges pursued will be murder or a murder-related charge rather than simple abuse. And this is on top of the civil case. Nick Gordon has fled to Florida in recent weeks to escape media and police scrutiny, but was tracked down at a Starbucks and slapped with a notice that he was being sued for $10 million.
Tyler Perry has asked for people to give the Browns and Houstons privacy as they go through this, but Perry must realize that Whitney Houston was a public figure with legions of fans and Bobbi Kristina Brown also had a fan following which has multiplied as her death nears. Bobby Brown is now back in Atlanta and at his daughter’s bedside as everyone is on a minute by minute death watch.
But it remains to be seen who among the Brown and Houston camps will actually be allowed at her deathbed. A family member has been shopping around photos they snapped of Bobbi in her bed at the hospice and each side of the family accused the other of being the culprit in the photo scandal. Rumor is that all phones and devices have been unilaterally banned anywhere near Bobbi’s room.
Two hearses wait outside and a tent has been erected to conceal which vehicle Bobbi will be loaded in, likely to keep fans and the media from knowing where Bobbi’s body has been taken. Whitney was buried at Fairview Cemetery in New Jersey, but there is no ground space around her to inter Bobbi’s body. So where the young woman will be buried is another source of debate for the families.
And the Houstons and Browns are already preparing to fight tooth and nail over Bobbi’s $20 million (and growing) fortune. Once Bobbi’s death is confirmed, which should be sometime this evening or early tomorrow, expect to see court cases filed by both sides to try and wrest control of her money away from the others.
Bobby Brown is not rolling in dough and has had high profile money problems in the past. But as her only living parent, he seems the likely candidate to rake in her dough. Nick Gordon was thought to have been a shoo-in initially but since it turns out they were never legally married and he may be implicated in her death, it’s not likely he’ll see more of her estate than he’s already finagled.
In the next week or so, look for notice of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s passing, a beautiful funeral and then an ugly court battle over her money and to find the truth over whether her death at 22 was a tragic accident similar to her mother’s or the result of something darker and more brutal at the hands of the man she loved – Nick Gordon.
