Is Bobby Flay moving into Giada de Laurentiis newly purchased 5,000+ square-foot Spanish-style villa? The celebrity chefs may soon be sharing more than just a workplace. There’s no reason for the Food Network stars to keep their romance a secret – they’re both divorced and paid big bucks for the privilege of stepping out as a couple publicly.
But before Bobby can move out to the West Coast to live in happiness and harmony with Giada he’s got to unload his 3,000+ square-foot NYC apartment with its custom-made chef’s kitchen filled with Viking appliances. The place also boasts a wood-burning oven AND an outdoor kitchen. Located in the highly desirable Chelsea area of Manhattan and Flay’s home is on the market for $7.95M – which for the uber-wealthy who want to live in New York City that’s chump change.
Giada plopped down a tidy sum for her new digs which sit on a 13,255 square-foot piece of property. And the kitchen in de Laurentiis’s place is a chef’s dream. The mansion has five bedrooms – one for each of their daughters, one master for Bobby and Giada to share – and two left for one or two little joint Flay and de Laurentiis productions? If the two empty bedrooms aren’t filled with little Bobby Flay and Giada de Laurentiis babies the two Culinary Hall of Fame inductees can use those rooms for their assortment of Daytime Emmys, dozen or so cookbooks they’ve written – and their ginormous egos.
But Giada may want to look into Bobby’s motives for making the move from the East Coast to the West Coast. There have been rumors that the restauranteur is interested in becoming THE major investor in Spartina – a restaurant located on Melrose Avenue where celebs love to hang out. Flay might just be looking for a place to throw down while until he finds a mansion that is more his style. Two chefs living under one roof – even with one beyond amazing kitchen – may not be a very good recipe for a long-term relationship.
