Bruce Jenner’s new docuseries detailing his journey with doctors and various procedures is controlled entirely by him, not Kris Jenner, and he wants everyone to know that it’s not an extension of the Keeping up with the Kardashians franchise. It’s his own story.
Kris Jenner may be accustomed to telling her family what to do, but ex Bruce Jenner is making it known that he is going to be the one in control this time when it comes to his upcoming television series about his recent life changes. Though the rest of the world may always be Keeping Up With the Kardashians, it seems it will be the family that is keeping up this time as the docuseries about Bruce Jenner’s sex change heads into the pre-production stage and he insists on making all of the decisions himself, according to TMZ.
The world has been watching with fascination – and a touch of confusion – after Bruce marked his split from wife Kris Jenner by embarking on a journey that seems to be leading to an eventual sex change. Much to the chagrin of outspoken Kris, Bruce has stayed famously silent on the entire issue, despite stepping out with noticeably softer features, feminine earrings, and feminine outfits. With the announcement of his tell-all docuseries, however, it seems Bruce is ready to open up and start some loud and proud sharing of his experience and all of the changes that are happening in his life.
The show, which TMZ reports is slated to appear on E! in May or June of this year, will follow Bruce as he discusses his plans with doctors, clarifies his goals, and learns about all of the options. Viewers will also get a unique glimpse into the private world of the psychological issues related to Bruce’s transsexual journey and how he copes with them as he changes.
Just because he has decided to handle all of the production decisions on his own doesn’t mean that Bruce isn’t planning on involving his family. The whole family, including Kris, Kim Kardashian, and Bruce’s sons will appear throughout the show, but they will not have their own storylines. Bruce made it clear that his show is not a spin-off and he wants to wait until after the finale of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” is finished and the audience is ready to move on.
