Tonight’s episode of Castle kicks off with Kevin and Castle storming in to Jerry Tyson’s apartment. He insists that he is not Jerry Tyson, his name is Michael Boudreau, and claims he has no idea where Kate is. Castle screams that he knows he took Kate and Kevin drags him out of the apartment. Meanwhile, Espo is questioning Kelly Neeman, she pleads the fifth as well and says she doesn’t know anything about Kate’s disappearance.

Castle, Espo, and Kevin head back to the police station and the Captain briefs them on what they have – which is nothing. They had patrols out searching for the decoy girl named ELizabeth that called Kate and lured her out to the street. The Captain thinks that Michael Boudreau may be a decoy, and Kelly Neeman did surgery on him to make him look like Jerry Tyson to throw them off his trail. She thinks that the man at the apartment is the real Michael Boudreau and Jerry Tyson is in hiding with Kate. Castle receives a phone call from Kate – crying and screaming for him to help her.

They trace the phone number that Kate called them from, and it is a payphone on the Upper West Side. The police rush to the payphone, when they arrive Kate is nowhere in sight. They find an envelope at the payphone addressed to Castle. Kevin opens the envelope and it is nothing but a voice recorder. They realize that the recording was what played, and Kate was never at the payphone. They take the recording back to the police station and they test the recording. The tech team does an analysis and realizes that the recording was actually splices of an interview Kate did on the news when Castle was missing.

A tip comes in from a witness who says that they seen someone in a hoodie pushing Kate in a wheelchair and putting her in a van while she was unconscious. Captain orders them to pull all of the security footage from the street cameras to get an ID on the van. Meanwhile, Castle has a plan of his own – he sneaks out and heads to Michael Boudreau’s apartment. Michael answers the door and Castle knocks him down and pushes his way inside. HE begins slamming Michael up against the walls and screaming that he tells him where Kate is. Castle pulls a gun on Michael and he sobs that he isn’t Jerry Tyson and begs him not to shoot him. The NYPD storm in and tell Castle to drop his gun, they handcuff him and take him away.

Michael Boudreau decides to press charges against Castle, and Kevin breaks the news to him that they have to book him and place him under arrest. Captain fingerprints Castle and lectures him about going to Michael’s – she says that if Castle wants to help Kate he needs to get inside his head and figure out what Jerry’s next move is. All hell breaks loose at the police station when Captain gets word that both Michael Boudrau and Kelly Neeman are on the run – and their officers lost their trail. Castle receives a phone call from Tyson, he taunts him about being “so close.”

Kevin traces the phone number that Tyson called them from – and they learn he was inside Castle’s house. Castle and the police rush to his house and Tyson is nowhere in sight, his daughter Alexis and mother are confused and don’t understand what is going on. Castle packs his mom and daughter and puts them on an airplane so that they will be safe and Tyson can’t get to them.

Back at the police station they get a call about the red van that Kate was abducted in. Castle and the police rush to the scene, and there is an abandoned warehouse. They can see Kate through the window of what appears to be the third floor. The swat team rushes to the door of the building and barge through. Kate is sitting in a chair – when Castle opens the door she screams that it is a trap. Gun shots ring out – and Kate appears to be shot in the head. Castle rushes to Kate’s side and realizes that the woman is wearing a wig – and it isn’t Kate. Apparently there was a speaker underneath the girl’s chair and it played a recording of Kate’s voice to make Castle think it was her.

Castle heads to the prison to talk to Jerry Tyson’s old cell mate, he explains that Jerry has his wife Kate and he needs his help. He asks him if there is any place he can think of where Jerry might have taken Kate. After some persuasion Castle finally convinces his old cell mate to spill the beans and promises him that he can get revenge on Jerry Tyson for everything he did to him.
Castle gets the address from Jerry’s cell mate and heads to the house alone, and doesn’t tell anyone where he is going. While he is watching from behind the trees he sees Amy Barrett come outside to smoke, she spots Castle in the woods and heads out to investigate. Castle pulls a gun on Amy and demands to know where Kate is. Amy insists that Kate isn’t in the house, and neither is Jerry or Kelly Neeman. Castle handcuffs her and throws her in the trunk of the car so that he can go investigate the house.

Castle heads inside the house and searches every room, Kate isn’t there. He finds a computer with a live feed of Kate tied to an operating table where Kelly Neeman is preparing to do surgery. She tells Kate that she is stealing her face, and plans to use Kate’s face to hide her identity. Kate’s not there..but Jerry Tyson is. He Tasers Castle, and takes him down and then calls Kelly and tells her that he has Castle.

Back at the house Castle pleads with Jerry to let Kate go and keep him, Jerry isn’t buying it though. While Jerry rants about how predictable Castle is, he realizes that Jerry knew he was going to come to the house and it was a set up. Castle has been playing Jerry though – he knew that he would be waiting there for him and he is wearing a wire. He tells whoever is on the other end to “take the shot,” Espo shoots him through the window. Kevin rushes inside and they trace Kelly Neeman’s cell phone number off from Jerry’s phone number.

Just as Kelly Neeman is about to slice Kate’s face she breaks her hand free and grabs the scalpel from her. Castle, Kevin, and Espo rush in to the room and they find Kate standing over Kelly Neeman’s dead body covered in blood. Kelly Neeman and Jerry Tyson are both finally dead.
