Dash Dolls premieres tonight with an all new Sunday, September 20 season 1 premiere episode, called “Valley of the Dash Dolls” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, in the premiere of this reality series, employees at a Hollywood boutique owned by the Kardashians are introduced.
For those of you who don’t know, Dash Dolls is about a reality series centered on the employees of the Hollywood boutique owned by the Kardashians.
On tonight’s episode per the E! synopsis “in the premiere of this reality series, employees at a Hollywood boutique owned by the Kardashians are introduced. First up: Malika pressures her twin sister Khadijah into doing a nude photo shoot together; Durrani is torn about going against her parents’ wishes; and fun-loving Taylor annoys her roommates.”

The Dash stores have now become as much of a brand as the Kardashians themselves are. And that’s why it was imperative on tonight’s season premiere that the stores maintain a certain reputation.
When they first opened Dash, the Kardashian sisters wanted to set their store apart from all the others. As in they wanted their customers to feel like they were doing more than just shopping and that instead they were enjoying an actual experience everytime they walked in. And to an extent they’ve delivered on this. However, times have changed since then and neither Kim nor Kourtney can be as hands on with the stores as they were in past.
So normally, with two sisters out, that would have meant they would have to rely more heavily on their younger sister Khloe. And though she’s stepping, she’s also delegating as well by looking towards her best friends Khadijah and Malika to keep the Dash Dolls in line.
The Dash Dolls are the women that work at the store. And if you can recall, there was an incident in the past involving Khloe getting too attached to the other women. Which resulted in her treating them as if they were friends when she shouldn’t have been seen as anything other than their employer.
So bringing in the two sisters was a good idea. They’ve both worked at the original Dash store and so they have some experience with what the Kardashian sisters expect. But it should also be noted that both Malika and Khadijah are thinking about going back to their acting roots. And that could mean they won’t always have their eye on the ball so to speak.
An example of this would be the fall-out from the pool party. At said pool party, a friend and a photographer had spoken to Malika and convinced her that one of the ways she and her sister can be seen as adults was to do a nude photo-shoot. Yet Khadijah has had three kids and she’s married. So she’s not sure about her body and she doesn’t want to risk offending her husband by doing something he might disagree with.
As for Malika, she was so completely wrapped up in trying to convince her sister to do this photo-shoot that tensions at the Doll House didn’t even register.
The Dash Dolls share a house so that both work and live together. And often not everyone is going to get along. But their issue with Taylor is something the other ladies tried to talk to her about only for Taylor to later ignore everything they said.
The Dolls had politely asked her not bring so many friends over and not to practically make it an every night situation. Yet she kept on inviting groups of her drinking friends over and she just didn’t care that she was doing this in the middle of the week. So one time, when her friends were making noise and drinking to their hearts’ content out in the back – the other girls called into the house and asked her to break up her little party.
They tried to do it politely and then Durrani snapped when Taylor couldn’t see what she was doing was wrong. So Taylor eventually left with her friends in a mood. And there was still some residual attitude the next day at work.
Thankfully, the ladies were able to sit down and talk more calmly in the light of day but where were their immediate bosses?
Oh, that’s right they were off debating the nude photo-shoot. And the one time they did check in was when Durrani came to them rather than the other way around. Plus that time with Durrani was not about the Taylor issue at the house but the young woman was merely seeking dating advice.
Durrani comes from a very religious Persian family and she didn’t know what to do about possibly becoming exclusive with a Jewish young man. So the young woman had her nerves calmed and she ultimately realized that she wanted to continue seeing Shalom. But as for the sisters, they hit a roadblock.
Khadijah had spoken to her husband and he left the ball in her court. So she could have gone ahead with doing full on nude but changed her mind in the middle of the photo-shoot.
Just said “no” and that was that for Khadijah. She soon left after getting small argument with her sister and Malika chose to stay. And then Malika went ahead with the photo-shoot even though she was left to do it alone.
