Gene Simmons’ home has been raided in a child porn investigation, and it has been made clear Gene and his family are NOT suspects. In frenzy of jaw-dropping cases including Jared Fogel, the sick ex-Subway pitchman, and Josh Duggar’s hypocritical double-life, the bassist of KISS’ name was tossed into the mix. However, the rocker and his family are said to be completely innocent in the investigation.
A search warrant was issued by LAPD’s Internet Crime Against Children Task Force on Thursday morning. It is believed that the crime occurred at Gene’s home while he was away on tour last year. Law enforcement sources revealed “someone downloaded child porn either on one of their computers or using their Internet access.”
It’s actually incredibly easy to be hacked by outsiders or hijack a WIFI connections. It’s also possible an employee or guest could have downloaded the illegal material. Currently, no suspects or persons of interest have been named, but the LAPD is investigating the case after raiding Simmons’ home and seizing computers and other evidence.
A rep for Simmons confirmed the news in a statement to NY Daily News asserting, “Members of the Los Angeles Police Department visited Mr. And Mrs. Simmons at their home to discuss a crime that may have occurred on their property last year while Mr. Simmons was away on tour with KISS. Neither Mr. Simmons, nor any member of his family, is a person of interest in the investigation and they are cooperating fully with the investigation. At this time, the police have requested that Mr. Simmons and his family not discuss the investigation publicly so as not to compromise it.”
Shannon Tweed, Gene’s wife, also sent out a tweet addressing the issue and showing her appreciate for fans stating, “Thanks for your support. We couldn’t be more horrified that someone used our residence for such heinous crimes. Law enforcement is on it. Goodnight and don’t forget to change your passwords.”
Lt. John Jenal, an officer leading the investigation, stated The KISS rocker and his family have been “extremely cooperative” and underlined the fact that Gene Simmons and his family are not suspects in the child porn investigation case.
